Art Practice - Using Guidelines and Learning Perspective (By: GreaverBlade)

Now that I’m used to the tools enough to make content, I wanted to start branching out. While I’m happy with my 3/4-face-side-view-fluffies, I wanted to try a different perspective. I also wanted to take a stab (not literally, this time) at a chripy-baby.

Currently, I do all the little fluffy lumps individually or in very short stretches when I draw. There’s a LOT of CTRL+Z as a curve goes wrong and I have to do a section over. Having a grasp on layers, I’m starting to use guidelines.

You can see the finished fluffy and the guidelines over which he was drawn. This made the whole thing go MUCH faster and I’ve very happy with the result for a whole different perspective.

Pose inspiration came from Shady’s Pizza Rolls story. I really liked that view of a foal and wanted to try it for myself.
