This is the sort of situation that could easily turn into most any kind of box with minimal effort. For example:
moronbox(accidental abuse): the mare believes that a small kitten has actually eaten her foal and flees, leaving the costumed foal to die from either starvation or exposure
Weirdbox: a mother cat comes along and for whatever reason thinks the foal is one of her kittens and raises it as such.
to be fair, cats just do that irl. Babies of other species near them after they give birth? Their babies. Find another cat’s babies? Actually their babies. Babies of anything they’ve determined to be another cat? (their human, or any other animal in their household they recognize as family) Also their baby.
The communal parenting they do in colonies can make cats liable to do some truly ridiculous adoptions.
