We’ll go with that (and not the fact I was too lazy to actually draw the ring toss table). They’re in a hay-bale enclosure, which is just a really shitty maze with no way out if you think about it from the fluffies’ perspective.

I can see the owner telling them to stretch their arms out wide to hug the ring, only causing it to be harder to win, in true carnival game fashion.
