Events of the NobodyAtAll Literary Universe

Note: I’m taking a short break after the phenomenal ordeal that was the Vulcanus Saga, but while I workshop ideas for new stories, I thought I’d do another information piece. This is a chronology of the events of Timeline-1989, the “main” timeline of my stories, so it won’t be listing any events in other timelines. New entries will be added as needed, and when I establish a rough timeframe for them. Obviously, beware of spoilers. Apologies in advance for any continuity errors, if you point them out I’ll try to correct them.

Circa 13.8 billion BC: the universe is created, most likely in the Big Bang. Supposedly, so are the Stones of Octavo.

Circa 66 million BC: Vulcanus crash-lands on prehistoric Earth, kick-starting an ice age, inadvertently creating Primal Earth, and sending any dinosaurs not killed by the impact or the ice age there. Vulcanus burrows deep into the planet, leeching off it for eons, and eventually tampers with human evolution in the form of introducing the potential for Phenomenon X into their genome, to create protectors for himself. The dinosaurs continue to thrive on Primal Earth, and the dinotites, humanoid dinosaurs, evolve. Meanwhile, humanity continues to evolve too, and those humans whose latent potential for power awakens go on to build the skybound Empire of Ad Laun Dyz.

Circa 12,000 BC: the skybound Empire of Ad Laun Dyz falls, being removed from the timestream. Emperor Adam Omega and Kushim evade this fate and are instead sealed in the Omega Casket. The Gurus also escape this fate, due to an unexpected reaction between Project Mammon, a machine built to tap into Vulcanus’ power, and the Reset Bomb that unmade Ad Laun Dyz.

Before 1 AD: Count Ianos the Fiendlord is born, and eventually becomes a half-demon by drinking Satan’s blood. How he got that blood is a very fascinating story, but not very fluffy-related. He safeguards a stash of the blood for the next two thousand years. He intends to use it to create a Fiendlord Jr., and spends a long time waiting for a worthy heir.

Circa 100 AD: The Battle of Gods. All gods go to war, the pantheons fracturing, all for dominion over the Prime Material Plane. The Judeo-Christian God wins the war and banishes all the other gods. Before leaving, six of the Norse gods pass gifts of power to Thoshi, who safeguards them for the next 1900-odd years while waiting for a worthy possessor.

Circa 1000 AD: the Archmage Varney Vampire becomes the first vampire, and turns many people, including Ianos.

Circa 1010 AD: Varney is slain, along with many of his thralls, but others, including Ianos, escape the destruction of Varney’s fortress. The man who slew Varney, an ancestor of the Van Helsing family, swears that he and his family will forever hunt Varney’s creations, and goes on to found the Hunter Association.

Circa 1700s: Chaos makes a deal with Auldryn the Golden, granting him 1% of his power. Auldryn moves from Magicca to Earth, using the Staff of Chaos, following his duel with Dehak. He discovers that magic isn’t embraced on Earth like it is on Magicca, and feels intense culture shock. He takes the name of François Faucheuse, meets Audrey, falls in love, marries her and fathers Pierre and Deston. A few years later, when François is revealed to be a wizard and their house is burned down by religious zealots, the boys flee, and François kills Audrey to spare her from worse, before returning to Magicca. He didn’t stay there for long. Roughly twenty-five years after Auldryn first came to Earth, Pierre successfully builds the first iteration of the Phase Distorter, travels to the far future, and uses future tech to build the second iteration. From that point on, until Pierre is eventually ordered to destroy the Phase Distorter, all of history is his playground.

Late 1800s: Dracula is defeated for the first time by Dr. Abraham Van Helsing and his comrades. The Vampire King will return several times, usually being put back in his grave by one of Abe’s descendants. While you are probably familiar with Bram Stoker’s account of these events, know that “Bram Stoker” was actually Abe’s pen name, and that he embellished a few things for drama. His family knows the true story. Meanwhile, a gold rush is going on in the Yukon, and Victor, who knows that gold is valuable in every century with people in it, gleefully participates, staking a claim in White Agony Creek. The cabin he builds is still standing a century later.

Circa 1910s: Henry Morris is turned into a vampire by one of his fellow soldiers, while fighting in the trenches of World War I. Yes, they let a vampire into the army. No, they didn’t know that Private Savini was a vampire. Not long after the war, Abe slays Savini, freeing Henry from his sire’s thrall, and spares Henry, knowing that he wasn’t a bad person at heart. Henry allows his family to believe that he had been killed in action.

Circa 1940s: Dr. Hans Stahlberg joins the Nazis, uses their resources to create the first Stahlkörper, ostensibly for Adolf Hitler himself, and to build his backup labs. Hans then transfers his own soul into the Stahlkörper, and abandons the Nazis near the end of the War, taking HG-420, one of the prototypes of Projekt Höllengremlin, with him for reasons unknown. Between Hans’ betrayal and the failure of Projekt Höllengremlin, Hitler has an aneurysm out of sheer rage and dies in his bunker. The true cause of his death is covered up due to the secrecy of the projects. Even after going to Hell and spending eons there, Hitler still holds a grudge against Hans. And the Jews. But that goes without saying. Kirk Stahlberg, Hans’ only son, is artificially empowered as an Omega Class by Hans and Gerald Eierkopf as part of Projekt Schatten, an attempt to engineer a master race, but when Kirk turns out to be too unruly to control, he’s placed in cryogenic stasis for the next seventy years at least. Fortunately, the duo of evil scientists don’t get a chance to empower anyone else before Pierre, Deston and Victor carry out an assault on Hans and Gerald’s facility, where sinister experiments and dangerous projects like Projekt Höllengremlin and Projekt Schatten are being carried out. However, they don’t search the entire facility, and don’t discover Projekt Schatten at the time.

Circa 1950s: Hans discovers the Omega Casket and creates the Omega Drives by analysing Adam’s power. Being unable to safely harness their unstable power at the time, he hid them across the Earth. He decides not to unseal Adam himself unless he gets desperate. Around this time, Hans starts work on creating his many neural backups.

Circa 1960s: Mika Korkea meets June Baron at a party, at Pierre’s prodding. After a passionate one night stand, June becomes pregnant, gives birth and leaves the child, Quinton, on Mika’s doorstep. Again, at Pierre’s insistence, via Annette. Mika never learned the identity of Quinton’s mother during his lifetime, because he was a shameless womaniser, and there was a long list of suspects.

Circa 1970s: Drake Fuego’s father becomes a disco sensation under the name Disco Inferno. Music runs in the family.

Circa 1980s: Victor suffers through a cocaine addiction, and is helped through it by Pierre and Deston. He never touches hard drugs again if he can help it.

1993 AD: Pierre watches Jurassic Park, despite Victor warning Deston to not let him, and is inspired to clone some dinosaurs of his own. As Victor keeps a portal to Primal Earth open so Pierre can gather DNA, Zhala Sr. briefly slips through. He only gets a brief glimpse of a city skyline before Victor drags him back to the portal in a headlock, but the sight inspires Zhala Sr. in turn. After an issue that the Death of Tyrannosaurus Rexes had to get involved with, Pierre never clones any dinosaurs again, sticking to safer species. Like dodos.

1999 AD: Dracula, after multiple resurrections, is defeated for the final time by Julius Van Helsing, Sonia’s father. Henry was seemingly involved, but claims that he can’t do the story justice. It’s one of those things where you have to be there.

Early 21st century: the emergence of fluffykind, and the Fall of Cleveland, as the Last Prophecy foretold. While Pierre had no direct involvement with the creation of fluffies, his influence on technological advancement did speed things up a bit. Pierre, knowing the true implications of fluffies spreading across the planet like wildfire, forms the Fluffy Cabal, recruiting several old associates, along with his brother Deston, and his best friend Victor, to protect fluffy interests. Pierre and Deston’s attempt to engineer a perfect fluffy unleashes Umbra upon the world. Phenomenon X is rediscovered by the Fluffy Cabal, partially due to the fact that at least three members of the Cabal are X-Positive, and they begin training any X-Positives they discover, building Dr. Pierre Faucheuse’s School for Gifted Individuals for this very purpose. Until the public reveal of Phenomenon X, the true nature of the School is concealed from the public. The School also becomes the headquarters of the Cabal. Prior to the construction of the School, the Cabal met at Faucheuse Tower. Victor completely and utterly destroys Fluffycide. When the first fluffy emerges from its vat, Azrael creates the Death of Fluffies, remembering what will happen next.

24 BX (before ChaotiX): Calvin Korkea, the Harbinger of Chaos, is born, the first Omega Class born since Adam. Dave Weissman, Seth Kane and Andre Dibny are also born around this time. When the four of them eventually meet in preschool, they become lifelong friends. Even though it takes a long time for Calvin, Seth and Andre to actually acknowledge Dave as a friend. Tyrone Beck is also born around this time, but when he meets Andre in preschool, it’s the beginning of a lifelong mutual grudge.

16 BX: Miles O’Shaughnessy, the second Omega Class since Adam, is born. Quinton and Ellen Korkea, Calvin’s parents, are murdered on Christmas Day. Their killer is dead by New Year’s Eve, ruthlessly hunted down by a furious Victor.

10 BX: Ianos murders Cyrus, curses Glenn with a fluffy head, and breaks Grandleon atop the Singing Mountain in Scotland. After having his manservant Oswald throw Glenn off the mountain, Ianos hides half of Grandleon in a cave on the mountaintop, reasoning that Glenn would either be too traumatized to ever return there, or would simply not think to look there. Ianos then leaves Cyrus’ corpse to rot, after using his blood to seal the curse on Glenn. Ianos later invites Oswald to a “dinner date”. It takes him three nights to drain the fat bastard completely dry, after which the Fiendlord “hires” Ludders to replace Oswald.

7 BX: Harvey, having been lured to Drakonia as a young man by Dehak, and having schmoozed his way into becoming Lorik’s trusted Chancellor, finally usurps Lorik as King of Drakonia and rules with an iron fist for the next ten years. Nadia, the rightful heir to the throne, lives in hiding. Ianos marries a human woman for reasons he doesn’t really understand, and she gives birth to a dhampir, Jackie. Eventually, Ianos feeds on and turns his wife. She gets staked in a week.

4 BX: Victor and June save Scarface and Greebo in London and each adopt one of the brothers. Victor is overjoyed to finally meet an immortal like him, even if they’re a fluffy.

3 BX: Calvin starts dating Gilda, and they stay together for the next three years, until Calvin realizes that Gilda is just a gold digger.

2 BX: The Party is held in Calvin’s apartment. Due to Calvin’s reluctance to discuss the events of The Party, all that is known is that Andre gets naked, and Dave and Sandra conceive Young Dave on Calvin’s couch. And Calvin jumped on the coffee table.

1 BX: Victor and Scarface are invited to the Eternal Gentlemen’s Club, and spend the next twenty-four hours solving a mystery, avenging a murder, and unleashing chaos hitherto unseen inside the manor’s walls.

1 AX (anno ChaotiX): Chris kills the Smarty Herd, gets kicked out of his house, descends into alcoholism, dies, and becomes a demon. Marley, the third Omega Class since Adam, is born, around the same time as Piccolo, Snowball, Caelum, and Magic. Calvin adopts Marley and Piccolo, meets Judy and Snowball, falls in love with Judy, crosses Threshold X, joins the ChaotiX, meets Umbra and saves the world for the first time. Calvin then fathers Quinton, the fourth Omega Class since Adam, with Judy. James Oldman snaps and shoots up his college, and becomes a demon after being sent to the electric chair.

2 AX: Calvin faces numerous threats to the city, world and/or universe: the return of Demon Chris and James, the Forces of Nature, Bertrand’s Alien Invasion and a rematch with Umbra, Hans and the Caldroid, later renamed Alpha, Count Ianos and his clan, Adam Omega, Zhala and his dinotites, Auldryn, and Anti-Calvin, culminating in the World Revolution, and a third and final showdown with Umbra. Calvin finally officially marries Judy, and Roxie and Ronnie are born. If either of them is an Omega Class, or if both of them are, it is currently unknown. The Last Prophecy is fulfilled, heralding the end of the Day of Fate, and after Fate attempts to get his job back, he is erased by Calvin using the Triad of Force.

3 AX: Calvin takes down the Abuse Syndicate, participates in the Intergalactic Tournament, destroys the God of Destruction, exposes Harvey’s crimes, quenches Vulcanus, the Unquenchable Flame, and reunites Xanitas with his long-lost birth family. Scott Korkea, Calvin’s eldest brother, becomes the fifth known Omega Class since Adam, but dies saving Calvin. Gooroo’s death heralds the beginning of the end for the Ganglion as we know it, as its members either reform or are arrested en masse.

4 AX: Calvin does battle with Shaun Radcliffe, leading to the discovery of the Devourer, deals with Hans’ final backup and a newly mechanical Vanessa Valentine, meets Father Lucian Pax, who is revealed to be a puppet of the Light of Peace, and faces off with the Dark Demon and the Hungry Rider, with help from none other than Scott. Dehak, having repaired his phylactery and restored his body with the Lamp of Desire, briefly conquers Drakonia. His reign lasts a couple of months at most. Calvin then defeats the Spirits of Sin, Carnage attacks San Fransisco, and the Cunning Man briefly returns once more.

5 AX: New Tenneb is destroyed, and Calvin and Marley learn more about the magical side of the universe.

Circa 250 AX: Albert is summoned by Azrael to become the Death of Fluffies’ companion.

It probably won’t be too long. I’m already thinking about what I’m gonna write next. Maybe another Erwin story, but it’s getting tricky coming up with ailments that I haven’t already done. I wanna do another Inn Between Worlds story too, but I haven’t decided who’s gonna cameo in it yet.
