Isn’t this the daycare that James and Scout volunteers at? Jitters didn’t pick a random daycare, he picked the one that someone personally recommended to him, a person that gave him free and good advice on how to look after Rainbow.
It’s not Jitters’ fault that a crappy employee put Rainbow in the wrong pen (he was supposed to go into the alicorn pen, not the general pen).

Oh yeah Jitters isn’t at fault for the faux ‘mix up’ that got Rainbow beat up ( and Jitters beat up too!). That’s 90% on Rob for being an asshole, and 10% on the daycare not having better monitoring of the fluffy pens to notice when trouble is going on before fluffies get hurt. Oh and for hiring Rob in the first place.
What he did do wrong was fail to prepare Rainbow in any way socially for being separated from his owner. He had days before this to introduce Rainbow to other fluffies before, with several options ( James, Loretta ) to find alicorn friendly, safe fluffies for Rainbow to meet. But he neglected to do so before he had to be at work in person, which again was an event he probably had on a schedule so it was not a surprise. And then on top of never before allowing Rainbow to be with strangers, he then literally dumped Rainbow at the day care without even talking to Rainbow about it first. You can tell Rainbow is starting to freak out about it even before Rob enters the picture. So the daycare visit was not going to go well from the start, its just that it would have been only emotionally traumatic for Rainbow instead of physically.
I can at least sympathize with Jitters, as I’m also a lazy, anti-social sort of person so I can understand how little he probably wanted to get out of his own space and deal with even more people on top of what he has to do for work/school/etc. But fluffies in nearly all stories are fairly social creatures, and Rainbow up until now had never even met another fluffy since the day he was born- he doesn’t even apparently know he has siblings! If he doesn’t get out and socialize with some nicer fluffies very soon, Rainbow is probably going to become just like his owner- an anxious, isolating, wreck.

I agree with pretty much all your points, except that I think that if Rainbow ended up in the alicorn pen like he should, the visit wouldn’t have been that traumatic.
As you’ve mentioned, fluffies are fairly social creatures in nearly all headcanons, so there’s a very good chance that Rainbow would have been taken in and looked after by a friendly alicorn, much like Clarabell was doing before she showed her true colours.
With an more auspicious start to his socialisation, it’d go a long way to preventing him becoming a neurotic wreck like Jitters. Hopefully Raindow’s meeting his siblings and Loretta’s other fluffies will undo some of the damage.
