I do notice do mares really that of a heavy sleeper? And not even felt or hear her foals been crushed or been stolen (seen in some comic)
Mares and fluffies in general tend to be very selfish actually. For this particular mare, she has been running for quite a while, so she is hungry and REALLY tired.

i thought the green foal would get away and in the next one the family would die to natural selection due to vibrant colours and green foal would survive due to camouflage
