Wosin' Weggies [By MuffinMantis]

Cupcake was feeling unusually hyper-active, bouncing from activity to activity. Maybe it was boredom from mummah being away for two bright-times, or maybe it was the long nap she’d taken earlier in the afternoon. Perhaps she was just excited for mummah to be home again today. Regardless, Cupcake didn’t seem to be able to focus on any of her toysies, quickly growing bored and moving to another, leaving them where they lay.

She knew it was against the rules to leave toysies on the floor, mummah had made that very clear after stepping on a ball and needing to go to the “hop-sit-al” for the thinkie-place-owwies, but Cupcake wasn’t really giving it much thought. Mummah would be back home soon, and if she didn’t like the toysies out, then she could always pick them up. It was so much easier for mummah to do, too, so it wasn’t fair for Cupcake to have to clean up!

Maybe it was just that mummah had taken away her ball and other toysies that she could use to vent energy after the incident. Cupcake couldn’t really focus enough to use her clumsy hoofsies to play with the little plastic bricks that had taken the place of her ball. Mummah said she’d get the ball back later, once mummah could trust her to put it away properly.

She’d also said that if Cupcake left any of her toysies out she would be in trouble.

Tammy closed the door behind her with a sigh. While she wanted nothing more than to go sleep for a few hours, she knew she had to take care of Cupcake before she could take a nap. Why had she even taken the fluffy in, to begin with? Tammy had never been fond of fluffies, with their noise and their stink and their tantrums. She never should have let herself be guilted into adopting the filly.

Still, now that she had she’d keep Cupcake until she could find the filly a forever home, which was looking more and more unrealistic by the day. Oh well, even if she ended up keeping Cupcake, fluffies tended to get calmer once they hit adulthood. Tammy would just have to deal with the problem.

Her exhaustion turned to exasperation when she saw the saferoom, a cluttered mess again. Stepping on a toy and ending up with a broken nose had given Tammy adequate reason to enforce her, admittedly excessive, rules regarding tidiness on Cupcake, but the filly didn’t seem to be able to learn. Three chances was more than fair, and Cupcake would just have to deal with the consequences.

“NUUUUU!” Cupcake shrieked, batting at Tammy’s legs with marshmallow hooves. “Nu take weggies! Nee’ weggies fow pwayin’! Nu wan wose weggies! Huuhuuhuu!”

“I told you the rules. Three strikes and you’re out,” Tammy scolded, placing the sensory sheet on the saferoom floor. While she was intending to punish Cupcake, fluffies needed stimulation, and Tammy wasn’t going to cross the line into abuse. Cupcake wouldn’t have much to do, but rules were rules.

Tammy finished cleaning up, leaving the sobbing filly on her bed. With a long sigh, she stood up and went to make something to eat before taking a nap, if she could with Cupcake throwing a tantrum. Honestly, fluffies always overreacted.

“Hao…hao wong 'tiww weggies?” Cupcake asked, sniffling.

“I told you, they’re going to some good fluffy who can clean up their toys. Good night,” Tammy replied, not even bothering to turn around at the new torrent of shrieks.

Honestly, it sounded like she’d mutilated the filly or something. Such an overreaction.

“And it’s pronounced ‘Lego’.”

Outcome unclear. Did the fluffy actually lose its legs?
