The second hand unwinds
This fic was a long time coming, but was defintiely affected by all the events in the past month. As the title suggests, it was supposed to be out during the first week of January. That said, Chinese New Year still counts as a new year according to the lunar calendar, and, the celebrations for it lasts 15 days, so I was lucky to upload the story within this season!
This story is the second part of my tribute to @pillows 's Rejects. The first was the Christmas story, which was uploaded to Fluffycommunity.com previously, but the entry has been lost due to recent events. Nonetheless, the story can still be read on the subreddit, and I hope the original upload on this site can be restored somehow.
This story was written to focus primarily on Pelusa. It was accepted that Pelusa did not handle the death of Punkie well, so I decided to explore that in this story, as I barely explored it in the Christmas story. However, it also became an exploration of Pelusa’s own relationship with Petal, thus making it a bit longer than originally intended.
Some notes:
(1) This story should be read after reading the Christmas story
(2) Pillows mentioned that Pelusa suffered from a past emotional trauma. As it was not relevant to the story, I chose to omit references to it
(3) An idea I had is that Petal, being unable to speak or hear, would be able to develop her artistic and reading skills better than most fluffies, as she would focus on them more comapred to other fluffies. In addition, writing and pictoral representation would be Petal’s primary means of communication, other than very basic sign language.
(4) Dr Luka belongs to @KerosineCannibal I had previously featured him in Chapter 10 of Avocado
(5) I had a fun idea that, along with Crazystein, Petal would also go to the same school as Avocado. I’m hoping to feature Petal ina future chapter of Avocado - I could imagine her giving Avo some art pointers!
And with that, well, we’re back! I got a few stories planned, along with a Chapter of Avocado, and a long overdue chapter of the Sam Adams Guide.
