Herman is an odd duck. Most of the stories I’ve read about him make me hate his guts, but then something like this comes along, turns that on its head, and me go “Oh, so he DOES have a heart!” Like I said, he’s odd.

Are you sure you’re thinking about Herman and not Josef or Jonathan? Not to shit on your opinion or anything, just curious. I’ve tried to make Herman the moral centre of the Mongola family so I’m curious if I’ve done something wrong in his characterisation
