I have not found any surgical treatment in the literature that is applied to dogs or cats (and if you do find it, it is most likely experimental and not yet available to the general public), it is usually just treating the signs and giving quality of life.

Megaesophagus is as much an independent condition as it can be a symptom of another underlying disorder. Half the problem is figuring out why it’s occurring.
The only time I’ve heard of there being a surgical “fix” for megaesophagus are when it’s caused by a persistent right aortic arch which is a congenital malformation that constricts the esophagus. Surgery can be done if it’s caught early enough with mixed prognosis. I’m not counting feeding tubes (nasal, esophageal, or gastric) and the like as a surgical fix because they’re typically intended to be temporary and aren’t a cure so to speak.
Otherwise… yeah, symptom management usually ends up being the way to go.
Edit: I would like to add that if the stars align and the condition is well managed there is a maintainable quality of life for a pet affected by ME. It’s not just constant suffering even if their life span is shortened as a result of the condition.
