That applies to anything really. Hugbox, horror, mystery, etc. Its why the adage is to show, not tell, as the role of analysis is different from the role or storytelling, though both are important
Which is why, if a fluffy has to be mercy killed, I’d rather have it sedated. Of course, I’d rather explore other opportunities with them since I attach a bit more value to the fictional species.

ive found that abuse dies upon dissection and becomes horror. i try to portray the existential nightmare that fluffies can pose, as well as the living hell that some of these things go through.
(read subverted expectations i worked adequately hard on it)
