I was going to mention Rey and his brood all smothering to death when he sealed the entrance, but I’d not read that they lived in an old mine, not a burrow.

There would still be some open holes around the old mining area so some are too high and some open holes still accessible. But Rey and his family lived longer till they see their kids grow and have families of their own. 
You get so used to fluffies being completly inept at doing anything that might ensure their survival, seeing fluffies actually being competent and striving is kinda refreshing.
Even more when some dummehs are suffering the consequences for not preparing.

Nice to see competent fluffies now and then. Though I imagine scenarios where a person or a big animal just bust through and gets the fluffies in hiding.
