Wrong. Jellenheimers were a weird Easter egg a few times that appeared many years after fluffies were a thing, and they were never supposed to be talking shapeshifting killers. I first saw fluffies on 4chan shortly after the ‘booru was created. Jellenheimers were based on an early pic that had a red blob like thing in it. It was supposed to be a fluffy, but people starting joking about it and came up with Jellenheimers.
As I said, the lore about them goes back almost to the beginning and is a core element of weird box. Micron uses jellenheimers all the time, and he is inarguably the master of weirdbox.
It’s true that jellenheimers rarely show up in abuse (being eldritch horrors), but abuse is only one of the genres of fluffy fandom.
And people have always tried to gatekeep the fandom, it’s tiresome. Sure, keep the ponies out, that’s fine, but don’t try to retcon jellenheimers and fuzzies and whatever the hell those things were in Mutagen’s classic post apocalyptic story. Weirdbox doesn’t belong to you.

Fuzzies were just one thing in the Fall of Cleveland which most people hate. Jellens were, like you said, just Easter eggs. I hated Micron since the beginning he wasn’t funny and I didn’t bother reading every single novel of a comic he posted every day. You hit the nail on the head though. They were just innocuous Easter eggs except in abuse when people turned them into edgy retarded adolescent garbage and people latched onto that. I was there when the first “jellen” picture appeared. Might’ve been early to you. Just a red blob. When they’re used like this it’s no longer about fluffies it’s about fake and retarded jellens.
Gatekeeping is necessary to any fandom to keep its integrity. It’s not a naughty word and an evil practice like people would have you believe. Without gatekeeping a fandom will not remain about its core concept before long
