Its their programming and mice DNA that makes them not want to mate with their relatives. But their drive for babies makes them anyway if its their only choice.

Maybe because they wanted fluffies to mate while being supervised?
And anyway, that’s a matter of headcanon, in mine they definitely don’t like to mate in full view, explaining why nearly every feral mother has a cardboard box nest.
