If you like abuse and your into hugbox, what made you be able to merge liking the two?

For most people, I think, you naturally glide over all the boxes the longer you’re in the community. You’re starting to like hugbox and a while from now you might even go through a phase of just purely hugbox. It’s not weird or something to be ashamed about. There’s some good shit out there in all the genres.

Wow, I definitely needed to hear that. Thank you.

You’re welcome? Lol

I can’t remember, it was a long time ago and the only hugbox thing I ever read because I thought it would have more good abuse than it initially had.

If you want some good kind of middle ground stuff and you like reading, I’d recommend the writer “mostlyneutralbox”. Their fluffy mill stuff is great industrial abuse that’s not overly brutal and their very short, unfinished “Pablo” series is really adorable hugbox without being overly saccharine and fruity. In fact Pablo just happens to be my absolute favorite lil guy on the site.

They gotta be perfectly balanced, as all things should be!

It’s hard to explain for me, but it’s like without one, you can’t really appreciate the other for what it is.

If it’s going to be miserable I want it to be deliciously so. The most beautiful rose has the sharpest thorns and all, or something.

Every box has its place, even those that are weirdly meta and couldn’t possibly fit into well established group-canon for whatever reason. Hugbox is consistently my favourite genre because abuse fits very well within the purview of most hugbox stories, where it’s normally a tool to drive an antagonist. When used effectively it’s 100X more impactful than most abuse stories.
