These fluffies understand Christianity better than like half of self-professed “Christians”. The point is not that being a Christian makes you immune to sin; it’s that Christ’s sacrifice means your sins are forgiven by God. Everyone sins, constantly, by virtue of being human; and the only thing we can ultimately do to save ourselves is to appeal to God’s infinite love and compassion in sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sake.
Comparing Gary and Lawrence to Xander/Zoe is a great representation of the fundamental difference between gay people and faggots.

Unfortunately, I’ve met and even occasionally been friends with people like Xander irl. They tend to restrict themselves to LGBT and activist spaces. The other place you can find them pretty commonly is college campuses, although even there they still also stick to LGBT and activist spaces. A lot of these people are also upper-upper-middle-class, so they’ll tend to show up at bourgeoisie posture protests and stuff like that due to having nothing better to do besides earn themselves bonus social credit.
Probably not looking in the right places. Like I said, these people tend to be ultra-bourgeoisie teens/20-somethings with a lot of generational wealth. I think a large part of the reason they act this way is a combination of chronic boredom and disconnection from the rest of society’s problems.
I can’t stand people like Xander. They give the small minority of individuals who actually hate LGBT people a ton of ammunition, basically for free. Worse, they make the rest of society, the neutral/indifferent people, feel like maybe what those individuals are saying might actually have some merit to it. It’s just horrible.
As a trans woman, I hate the fact that my community refuses to police itself. The LGBT community tolerates a lot of really inappropriate behavior from those within it, to the point that it’s pretty easy for someone to get away with being toxic. There are a number of different reasons for this, and some are actually pretty valid; but a lot of others aren’t, and the reasons that are valid are often stretched to the absolute limit of credulity.
Which is sad, because the attention-seekers and creeps tend to drown out those who just want to live normal lives and be left alone. I really do wish that things will get better, although I’m not very hopeful.

I remember being called a Nazi and told to kill myself in 2013-2014 because I thought that in order to be considered transgender, one should have to have gender dysphoria–In other words, you should have not feel comfortable as the gender you are and/or want to change your gender in order to be considered transgender.
This was back when the demedicalization movement was just starting to get popular, and the big thing was tucutes vs. truscum. A “tucute” was someone who believed that you can be transgender even if you don’t have any symptoms of being transgender; i.e. you just take on the label “transgender” and you’re transgender. A “truscum” was what is today called a “transmedicalist”-- someone who believes that it’s an actual medical issue. This is apparently evil and only Nazis believe such things.
Like, it’s difficult to explain to people who haven’t personally experienced the LGBT community just how insane it’s gotten. The belief that anyone can be transgender just by taking on the label “transgender” is the majority opinion. If you say that gender dysphoria has a medical origin, you will be threatened with violence from many people. God forbid you acknowledge that gender is different from sex, and transition doesn’t literally make you a 1:1 of the sex you want to be.
Xanders are, unfortunately, fairly common in the real world LGBT community; but they’re almost ubiquitous in the online one. I can’t imagine how many people get discouraged by trying to ask questions and having “NAZI” screamed at them by twenty people in a chat. The whole thing is a mess. It’s so sad.
I do a lot of LGBT activism in my spare time–in particular, bridging the gap between the trans community and conservative groups. A lot of conservative people are lacking information because they don’t know any trans people that will talk to them, so I do it. Just about all of them are very respectful and interested in learning stuff.
It’s just, you’d be shocked at some of the responses I get from other LGBT people when they find out I do that. They treat me like I’m leaking nuclear secrets to the enemy or something. A lot of the time they’ll flat-out accuse me of being a “fake trans” or something weird like that. I’ve gotten called all kinds of names, threatened with death, told I’m a “self-hating MAGA”, and asked why I want to help trans people get genocided. I genuinely don’t understand why helping people be more tolerant is considered hate or helping with genocide.
My apologies, again, for going on such a lengthy screed about the LGBT community; but it’s an important issue to me, for obvious reasons.

We asexuals have been facing a similar problem in recent years. There is an influx of Xander-like attention whores trying to change the definition of asexuality to the point where actual asexuals like myself are constantly kicked to the curb.
Real asexuality means zero sexual attraction to anyone or anything, and zero desire for sex or other sexual activities. We do not willingly have sex or participate in sexual acts of any kind.
Unfortunately, the so-called “sex-favorables”/“sex-positives” (also known by bullshit microlabels like “aceflux”) have long been spreading bullshit about there being an “ace spectrum” and how “attraction is not action”.
Now, 99% of what were formerly asexual spaces are filled with paraphiliacs (claiming to be “kinky aces”, which aren’t a thing) and porn addicts talking about sexual shit. And whenever an actual asexual person tries to say anything, they get accused of “invalidating” the “sex-favorable” fakers.
The worst part is that the “acespec” lie is seeping into the mainstream, which is potentially dangerous because it fuels the misconception that asexuals “just haven’t tried it yet” or that there’s something wrong with us that needs to be “cured” with sex therapy.
They try and guilt-trip asexuals about “withholding sex from” allosexual partners and to “compromise”, as if it’s no big deal.
One of the most disgusting things I’ve seen was someone running an asexual dating advice page telling an actual asexual person to have sex to “make their partner happy” (aka blatantly encouraging coercion and sexual abuse).

Agree. My oldest friend’s son is a happy, VERY flamboyantly gay young man who’s proudly out. But even he has told me that he’s not fond of how the LGBT community is changing.
He said about the local Pride events: “Refusing to be cowed & proud of it, yes. But why dressing up in a posing pouch and/or fetish gear in front of small children? That’s just nasty.”

Ugh, paraphiliacs shouldn’t even be allowed at pride events. Having a paraphilia (“fetish”/“kink”) isn’t being LGBT, it’s having a mental illness. That shit needs treatment, not pride. Should be considered indecent exposure to do anything related to it in public, too.
Unfortunately, they’re EVERYWHERE in Pride Parades these days.

I know the adage, yes. Saw something about pamphlets being distributed to kids that taught them how to make at-home HRT. Disgusting what these people want to do to our youth.
I used to be friends with a trans woman who was a self-described “Antifa recruiter”. She revealed to me, as a result of a conversation during the “don’t say gay” debate, that she believes children are capable of consenting to sexual activity as young as four years of age and should be actively taught about kink in school.
Obviously, I broke off the friendship right there. But that’s really when I started realizing how bad things had gotten. It horrifies me that these are the people who represent my community.
