Nice pic, but am I the only one who’s tired of upside-down crosses being used as shorthand for Satanism? The upside-down cross symbol originally represented Saint Peter, but you never see it in that context anymore. Kind of like how a certain group of Germans took a Hindu/Buddhist holy symbol, flipped it backwards and bent it 45 degrees, and it became shorthand for hate.

A whole bunch of Satanic Panic tropes (upside-down crosses, black masses, etc) are deeply bound up in Catholic religious trauma. Hence popular culture from The Exorcist to Faith: The Unholy Trilogy. Not saying it’s right or wrong, but that’s why this stuff is so prevalent as visual shorthand for evilbad.
(Also not implying other Christian subgroups don’t inflict trauma, of course. Jack Chick never met a satanic panic meme he didn’t absorb uncritically.)
Jack Chick made a robot clone of himself, and nobody could tell them apart. That tells me all I need to know about the guy.
He was a very frightened, very hateful man. Like HP Lovecraft if he wrote shit comics and conspiracy theories instead of anything fun.
