i actually really like the idea of smarties being really sensitive to human approval more than other fluffies, so much that they want to die when criticized. yet being extremely callus and aggressive toward other fluffies. i like to think that smartie syndrome stems from being pampered as a foal and they believe they have a superior advantage to human adoption. however, when they see the hard truth that humans arent fond of bratty rodents, their entire worldview comes crashing down as everything they thought mummah said was right, that they were “the smartest, bestest, danciest babbeh” only to be slapped and assaulted. its rather humorous
