I’m not that familiar either, but i just know the lookand the feel. If you look up Holocaust era art, you’ll get a good feel for what I mean.

Theres something about the thickness of the lines combined with the muted color tones which brings this home for me.

Bleak times , produce bleak arts.

I recall a few more but i cant really tell you who the artists were.
The Dada movement sprung up from WW1 though.
They reasoned that the world had gone crazy so art should not be constrained by realism anymore.
In a crazy world the only rational thing to do is to be crazy.

Yeah, I should edit that part as its not clear to what was intended. Each cage has two fluffies in it. Each rack is filled with cages as described. Each “nursey” room has a full compliment of racks. This was a volume operation with high casualties selling to the lowest paying customers. Eventually no amount of cost cutting would keep it profitable or even breaking even.
