A real, physical book [by Maple]

oh gosh this is epic! I love seeing handmade books! its a wonder to see ones story go from imagination to a story to a physical book!

I have a plans to do more. With how much we, as a community, have lost due to site changes in the past I think it’s important to get some of these preserved in a form that can’t be destroyed by a server going down.

I’m thinking of doing it in silver! The black was just because that was theoretically what I could do myself with my home printer.

Our stuff is as important as ā€œrealā€ books. The only difference is that we make it for free.

If the Marquis de Sade were alive in our times, he would write in this place

I mean have you seen the shit that gets published?? There’s some straight up garbage out there, I’ve read traditionally published books way worse than most of the shit on the site.

Maybe I’ll open up commissions at some point.

I will be releasing a printable version (for you to bind yourself) and an ebook of everything I format though!

Do you plan on selling these, or are they just for yourself. I’d love to commission one!

maybe once i have a little more experience i may. I have made literally two so i do not feel comfortable doing this for money!!

there would also be the issue of what I’m binding, if it was a story that wasn’t mine I’d need permission from the author to do it for money, it feels wrong to profit off someone else’s work. Making these for myself is one thing, selling them is a whole 'nother.

This is so cool! I’ve also bound a few books (blank ones, for me to write in by hand). Like you said, it’s really fun and not as difficult as you’d think. It’s definitely something more people should try out.

But binding Fluffy stories, or other online stories, is such a good idea, and a great way to preserve them! I also prefer physical books and media in general. It’s just a different feeling when you have something that you can actually hold in your hands and put on your shelf.

I also love the details of the small illustration on the title page, and the purple leafy paper on the inside of the cover.
