What is a word you would never ever hear in a hugbox story?

What word will you never hear in an abuse story?

What words are clear signals of the type of story you can expect?

Do such words even exist?

Ooo erm

For hugbox the word Factory or Mill must be up there as a sad/abuse flag i don’t think i have ever seen a story involving a factory that isnt industrial abuse/sadbox

For abuse that actually tricky because anything can be made awful one way or another soooo nope i got nothing  i was gonna say old like in the sense of a elderly owner but then you have to think of like negligence due to age so maybe that would be more sadboxy since its not intentional idk thats a tricky one.

(EDIT FERALS FINDING SHELTER IN A ABANDONED FACTORY AND MAKING A HERD COMMUNITY OF STRAYS, I RUINED IT FOR MYSELF)

Neat concept
Personally I think that any words could show up in any kind of story if it’s handled well enough. But there are some that tend to be more difficult to work into a setting. Really anything can fit if you work at it, especially if it’s the beginning/origin, where a litterpal that has never known affection is freed by a kindly new owner, or a beloved and long cared for fluffy is suddenly lost and knows the terrors of feral life.

Like Karn and Freshly said, Abused stories often have a lot of topics touched on that hugbox stuff don’t. If anything, hugbox stuff is the more often limiting factor and have basically a ‘no’ list on topics.

I don’t read hugbox stuff (if I want to read such, there’s a lot of sites for such). So, I can’t speak on that, but if I had to guess, words like ‘putting down’, or ‘killing’ would be up there, at least targeted at the main fluffies.

This question is impossible to answer due to one specific kind of story: Bait-and-switch.

A story that starts off hugbox only for daddy to reveal himself as Literally Satan, or a story that describes the abuse of a fluffy in detail before going into how it was saved and has a cozy hugbox life.

Instead of words, what can tip me off to it being hug/abuse is how the fluffy itself behaves. In an abuse story, the fluffy - if it’s not a cruel hellgremlin - will be overly loving, saccharine, and clingy. Hugbox fluffies seem to be depicted as calmer or more playful instead of clinging to daddy every possible moment.

I do think milkbags aren’t featured in hugbox stories though, beyond a quick “should I get a milkbag? no those are shitty” conundrum.

Slurs. Not to show my hand or be too biased but isn’t the point of hugbox to be a well hugbox, to be a space where all the bad stuff either doesn’t exist or is temporarily ignored so the readers can catch their breath?

What word will you never hear in an abuse story?

Just about everything is on the table for abuse, which is kind of the point. To me abuse is about going into the muck and either coming out the other side or enjoying your time wallowing in the shit. Everything is on the table for an abuse story, from bleak no hope stories to happy endings and even redemptions abuse runs the gambit of all emotions.

Maybe “last babbeh” for a Hugbox story, not saying it impossible - Rosemary by Jim Profit has a mother outlive her foals and is still generally a Hugbox tale - but it paints a more bittersweet picture that usual Hugbox works

I do think you’d be less likely to hear Hugbox words in an abuse story. A Hugbox story can still start abusive but improve over time whereas an abuse story will get to the abuse much quicker

Spiked. Most hugbox stories you can trust the food. Otherwise it would be “medicated”
Comfort. Too weak to have impact in its denial too strong to offer it between torture sessions.
It’s all in word choice. Poisoned v medicated, slashed v cut, kicked v hit, etc.

Lemme dig into my trivia knowledge, here.

Hugbox: pogrom, mass execution, blood eagle, scaphism, brazen bull, war wolf, global thermonuclear annihilation, virus, internal decapitation, cobalt bomb, The Wheel, compound dislocation, dictatorship, scabies, chemotherapy, ennui, seppuku, cow catcher, power washer, bockle, and jellied.

Abuse: happiness.

What is a word you would never ever hear in a hugbox story?

I haven’t looked any of these up but with a few exceptions, they likely do not appear in any hugbox stories at all.

Skinned.
Viciously.
Keening.
Shitrat.
Auto-abortion.
Industrial.
Basement.
Penetration.
Sizzling.
Desperately.
Snakefood.
Retard.
Craphorse.
Desiccated.
Bandsaw.
Python.
Anal.
Litterpal.
Enfie-pal.

Some of these terms are in-universe terms; others are contextual. For example, you’d call a neighbor’s dog vicious, but you wouldn’t describe yourself as “viciously sorryboxing the fluffy”, would you?

What word will you never hear in an abuse story?

More difficult because hugbox stories often have crossover with general fluffy vocabulary, so if it wouldn’t appear in the narration or human dialogue of an abuse story, it’d still likely appear in the fluffy dialogue. Furthermore, abusers often mimic hugboxers, so it’s even more difficult to find anything they wouldn’t say.

However. These are the least likely I can think of to appear in an abuse story, even if I’ve seen them before; or likely to appear only in a hugbox story.

Grandma.
Grandpa.
Sweetheart.
Champ.
Ethical.
Park.
Suspicious.
Escorted.
Arrested.
Saved.
Rescue.

Some of these terms are included specifically because they involve abusers being prevented from obtaining fluffies to abuse or otherwise being unable to harm a fluffy.

What words are clear signals of the type of story you can expect?

Industrial: sadbox hilariousbox incoming.
Water: fluffy pony drowns.
Dinnerr: beware of goblin.
Spanish: content creator speaks Spanish.
Enfie-Babbeh: this one should be obvious.
Self-censorship: content creator thinks he’s clever.
Sweater: there’s no hope for mankind, all is lost.
Anon: content creator is an oldfag.
Craphorse: I don’t know, but it makes me feel good in my tummy.
Bestesh babbeh: peepee poopoo hellgremlin justicebox, not worth reading.
Poopie babbeh: peepee poopoo hellgremlin justicebox, not worth reading.
Smol: content creator is either an MLP oldfag chad or a Reddit virgin.
Uranium-241: awful Mary-Sue, avoid at all costs.

Do such words even exist?

yes no maybe

I dunno, feeding a fluffy any form of uranium would be hilarious. Imagine one of the little fuckers straining to poop out a chunk of depleted U.

Unfortunately a lot of you bring up very good points.
I was hopeful we could find a way to automatically apply tags to stories and art
But it seems that’s not going to be as feasible as I had hoped
