Addressing the Elephant's Foot (Loopie)

Addressing the Elephant’s Foot in the Room

Hello Fluffy Community, Loopie here. Some of you know me as a simple lurker or a writer who hasn’t posted the next part to his FoF: MRI series yet. Others probably won’t even know me at all, and that’s fine, you’ll soon know. Recent events have seen me being a bit more active here, and so today I would like to address what I’m sure many here have forgotten or would prefer to remain forgotten.

When I first rediscovered fluffies a few years back, I was not in a good space. Tragedy and heartbreak had just entered my life, and I was seeking out an old stress coping mechanism from my highschool days. For a time, my hectic life schedules kept my brain juices flowing with thoughts that I turned into inspiration for my stories. Now, life has mellowed out to average and I am not feeling as stressed or grief stricken, and as such haven’t had the same motivations to write my fluffy stories.

Despite this, I am still very much a passionate lurker in the community. When I arrived, the site had quite a few problems and a lackluster mod team that was more content to sit with their thumbs up their asses than do anything about it, in spite of so many within the community hounding them to do so. Around this point, I found someone just as passionate about the community, if not more so than myself, in the form of a pizza faced vampire.

The day he achieved the role of site janny, his actions were swift and resolute, driving out both unsavory elements which we should have been rid of long ago as well those who did not wish to interact with the main interest of our fair community. In a very short amount of time, peace and order came to the lawless land of the site. This peace would be short-lived, however, for as soon as everything was in place, the only one doing a goddamn thing for this place was ejected from his role as quickly as he got it. For reasons still largely unknown, this passionate soul was ousted, and his vigorous flame doused.

I am making this post now of all times because it has been a few months out since that fateful day, and already I can see the lawlessness once more rearing its ugly head, and site staff barely doing a thing to curb it. I am not making this as a “I’m leaving.” or “I’m gonna stop being part of the community at large.”, but as a “I’m tired of shit going sideways.” I’m calling out the site staff to finally give us a comprehensive reason as to why the only one willing to do what needed to be done was removed from his role, why @Mr_Owl, who did the removing, did so in a unilateral move without consulting the rest of the team, and why even the owner of this site @Ryou decided to accept this widely criticized move and just move along as if it nothing ever happened.

If you don’t want to do your job because you’re too busy with life stuff or because you’re afraid of stirring up a little controversy, then I implore you to please step down and let those who want to see this community thrive in peace take up the mantle of responsibility. If you want to remain as part of the site staff, then do your fucking jobs right and don’t be a coward.

What’s to know, za went from restoring some order to being a faggit to anyone new, having a channel on discord set up to point out who should be harassed is not a good thing for a mod.
Maybe za should have used his mod powers to ban people not posting fluffy content instead of getting off to harassing people, but as za would say lurk more faggit

Weren’t you banned for being a dick only to be unbanned because I advocated for you

Also why would I ban people for posting non-fluffy before trying to encourage them in the right direction? That just seems like a shitty thing to do. Not my fault some people think they’re always right and the rest of the website is wrong for not liking their special subspecies OC

You didn’t encourage people in the right direction you insulted and brow beat them, that was the problem shits annoying from a random poster but it is not something you want from a healthy mod team

Yup banned for being a dick to the mods not some random fuck who drew a neck to long or didn’t make a fluffy fat enough

The times I overblew it are few compared to the times I didn’t, but admittedly that doesn’t make the times I went too far okay. I’ve said as much and apologized for as much

Also to the guy who keeps eyeroll reacting, you know if you wanted to give a proper response we could actually attempt a constructive discussion and I could maybe apologize if I’ve done you wrong?

I’ll say this much, I was a lot. I know that. I’ve been trying to do better about that recently. I’ve made a lot of changes in the small amount of time I’ve been gone. I’m getting ready to start therapy soon. I’m not saying this to seek sympathy because that’s gay and retarded. But I wanna make it clear that I know I’ve been a handful a lot of times, and as much as I say that my actions always came from a place of good intentions, they didn’t always. More often than not, they did, but that definitely wasn’t always the case. I did troll people, bully people, just for the comedy of it. Usually it was people who didn’t get fluffies, who drew non-fluffy content, who generally just didn’t fit in here. That doesn’t make it right of course but I’ve always tried to make sure I don’t cross the line from online bullying/trolling into genuine harassment. I’m not gonna say I don’t suck for it, but I’m also not gonna say none of the people I trolled deserved it because that damn sure wasn’t true. But I sure coulda worked on my restraint.

Journal entry over, inb4 cool story bro

The times they changed on us za the good old days when shit posting was the norm are gone everyone is a sensitive little snow flake unless they want to shit post.
You can no longer insult people into conformity you have to nice now

If I had more reign to just ban people for not drawing fluffies we wouldn’t be in this mess anyway

I’m confused as to what purpose this post even serves. The ground has been tread so much and you’re only going to be receiving the same information you’ve always gotten regarding the situation.

Here’s my thoughts on it and some observations on the post as a whole: I’m going to preface this by saying I’m not saying any of this to be mean toward Za. It’s going to contain some hard truths I believe do need to be said since this seems to be such a sore point.

Most of the things you are saying are wholly over-inflated. Za as a moderator wasn’t some grizzled war veteran ankle-deep in shit, covered in scars and mud. He was a mod. As far as I could tell he served in the exact same faculties as any of the other mods. If there was an immediate problem, he would take care of it. If there was something that wasn’t so egregious, he’d have to wait and hash it out with the other moderation staff. This isn’t a change from how it is now. It’s not a change from how it’s been ever since I’ve started using the place.

Getting rid of Marak wasn’t some great pinnacle, Earth shattering event. Should he have been gone sooner? Yes. Why wasn’t he? I don’t fucking know, you tell me. It didn’t require Za to do it, it required literally any fucking user who had been told ‘Hey, why isn’t that pedophile gone yet?’. A pedophile who had bounced a long time before he even got banned. It’s not some great milestone deserving of recognition. It’s sweeping the broom and doing something literally the entire community who knew about Marak had been clamoring for.

The porn ban? Fair enough if you don’t like the content, meaningless if it never bothered you. I always thought it was a stupid and meaningless nail to hang your hat on considering you can make all the fluffy porn you want to this day. How? Just make sure the fluffy is crying and not enjoying the sexual activity. By making the pornographic content even more depraved and fucked up, you can fully skirt the rule. That fact is really goddamn funny, so I’m not really counting this as an accomplishment either.

What did Za do really well? The content guides were awesome. It was a good signpost for everyone new in the community and people who’d been around but just needed some brushing up. He also had many proactive ideas involving the community and wanted people to actively improve. He was also one of the more vocal mods so you could have conversations with him about stuff regarding how the place was ran and could pick his brain about decisions, rules, whatever you needed.

I guess what I’m trying to say is he was never a bad mod but you and perhaps he has an inflated view of what was accomplished during his time in the position. Mostly I think he’s joking when he says stuff regarding it but I’m just putting that out there for the sake of transparency.

The place is no better or worse with him having lost his position. Retarded people would have still popped up on his watch and he would have been just as beholden to consulting the other staff regarding their position in the community. Unless they were breaking the rules to such a degree that they would require immediate, swift attention it would have been just as it is now. That might be a bitter pill to swallow but it’s the truth and you’re just pining for what was because it was a shitty situation that was handled poorly. It being handled poorly has absolutely no bearing on the moment though, but if you or Za wants to be steamed about that feel free to be so I guess. I would be too.

The “lack of transparency” people have been taking issue with about why he was de-modded isn’t a big secret. I don’t know why the mods didn’t make it more public but it was explained that, essentially, Za ran out of legitimate targets and started harassing newer people for very light offenses if that. That much was plain to see at the time. I talked to Za about it and he acknowledged that he was warned for his behavior in the past but he said “he thought he got better”. Thinking isn’t as good as doing.

I haven’t noticed this tbh idk what you’re talking about

It was a while ago. People were freaking out. You took the words of McGee of all people at face value and immediately went to “I think you guys should do a mass protest”
