Another, real physical book [by Maple]

Rosemary by @jimprofit ! This is one of my favorite stories, so I was really looking forward to working on this. I managed to do the corners right this time, even if the text block itself is a little messy. I also managed to print the title on the fabric and only smudged it a little!

I have one more printed and ready to bind, a small wrench got thrown into my plans after I found out that I cannot run the bookcloth through my printer :frowning: I’ll have to experiment on some shit before I take down that modifluff beast.

Dude, that’s fucking awesome! Also that’s a great choice of story, Rosemary is, to me, the perfect fluffy story and Turbine’s art ties it together beautifully. Damn I would love to buy something like that but I’d be terrified to own anything fluffy related irl.

what would i buy if i wanted to get into this?

This guy is where I learned.

I got a craft knife, bone folder, cutting mat, and specialty paper (it has to be short grain or the pages wrinkle weird in the book) along with some bookcloth and bookboard. i really dont like the bookcloth though, so i would say use paper or cloth like i did on this one.

I need to try this someday. It looks like so much fun.

What printer did you use for these, and what DPI did you print them at? Color is some crazy effort

This is nothing fancy, standard print quality. For the cover too. You can see on the image that there’s some streaks.

Hey @BFM101 do you know the rough word count of the whole Josef arc … o.o for no reason in particular.

Between 250,000 and 300,000. Potentially more depending on how much you consider to be the Josef Arc and how much is tangentially related but unimportant plot wise

Rosemary is 52k and almost an inch thick. The entirety of the Josef Mongola Timeline would for sure need to be multiple volumes.

I may or may not be toying around with printing my favorite parts of it, If the author has no objections to it.

The Whole Bloody Mongola Saga is too dense and too contradictory to be worth putting into physical media. I’d need to prune the whole thing down and I just can’t be arsed with that.

But if you wanna take a few select chapters and try them out then feel free.

Respectfully, hard disagree, but you’re entitled to your wrong opinion about your own stories. :nail_care:t3:

Yeah that would be a beast. Love the whole thing, read through it multiple times over but never in one marathon.

Formatting is by far the worst part of this. I cannot express how awful it is to fight with a word processor that’s not really equipped to deal with something that’s 624 pages long.
