Uh, actually, albinism is a total lack of pigment, so neither of these are albino fluffies because their eyes are not red.
They should instead be called Leucism fluffies.
Lack of pigmentation still allows for variety in eye colour. The rare brown ones, even.
The important factors are, from a Mythos perspective, cannibalism, a subterranean lifestyle, inbreeding, & mutagens, such as fluctuating electromagnetic fields.
Sometimes fluffy, or furry, small omnivores can help.
I’d argue half of those are currently mislabeled as albinism.
There’s even one (OCA3) that sounds much more like erythrism than albinsm. Erythrism causes red pigment where there’d normally be dark pigment.
I’ve always found it strange that there are seemingly no leucistic humans, but seeing these descriptions, I think leucism (as well as xanthism) may just be mislabeled in humans for whatever reason.
The Siamese Cat’s colorpoint being listed there is also surprising. True albino cats do exist and do have reddish/pinkish eyes, and white tigers are leucistic but share a similar mutation to colorpoint.
I wonder why it was decided to categorize them under albinism rather than leucism.
