I did not seek this place out, a community like this one out, because I was yearning for unabated love and cuteness. This place was meant to illicit emotions, even the uncomfortable ones. I first got into fluffies, into fluffybooru when it was around, because I wanted to feel something, anything really, and sometimes discomfort is better than emptiness.

i wouldnt say they outright try 2 paint the abusers as heros, but it, at least 2 me, feels like alot of the characters that the writers and artists make r basicly look at me i can get this animal who has the mental capasity of a 3 year old at the best of times 2 mass murder its childern, or look i just grabbed this animal who was just born from its mother who i curb stomped 2 death and shoved rusted butter knifes in the assholes of it siblings and ripped off a few of their legs, watch as i shove a firecraker up its ass, light it and chuck it in2 a wall, or watch as i take these newborn animals and sodomise, deleg and rip out the eyeballs just 2 say they brought it on2 themselves cause (insert retarded reason 1 to 10000) and cause i did x, y, or z i did a good thing. i could go on but this is already long enough.

That would be to the detriment of both. Abuse has more punch because Hugbox exists to contrast it. Hugbox is made more charming BECAUSE abuse is always lowkey a possibility.

Yeah now adays no-one can think of creative reason why X,Y or Z gets bloody massacred with now one of the best being ‘fuck you that’s why’ as its just pointless to expect a reason at this point they just hate the world or just aren’t right and so are being bestial to animals because they have nothing better to do.

There’s a few post on the sub were people happily admits they would torture a real fluffy but “only the bad ones” Once I got down voted to shit for saying torture is never justified irl.
That’s one of the many reason I hate the sub, when I got there people had the nerve to DEMAND all abuse to be justified, and then call artist psychos for torturing “good” fluffies. Seems that site is full of immature man children with a poor concept of reality.
That said, I really enjoy industrial abuse. Human greed is always a believable cause of abuse, without toddler-level moralistic justification
For me, narrowing the debate down to what is morally ethical in fiction, whether the ways people enjoy abuse or hugbox make sense or not, doesn’t slice it for me.
The appeal of this community (to me) is very much in the same vein in which I am drawn to science fiction. But, there’s something more enthralling about this community than a one off novel. It’s not the catharsis, hugbox, abuse, just the sheer speculative energy generated by a community of strangers that all resonated with a specific idea: a fictional world in which corporations have made a sapient being a product for the sake of other sapient beings - the horror and dissonance of biological engineering and gene tampering in the blind pursuit of profit, and the ways that inevitably went horribly off the rails. The many, varied microcosms of stories different people are able to come together to imagine and tell speculating on how these theoretical not-quite-animals, not-quite-ourselves would maybe fall into our complex, varied societies and arguably more complex, complicated, contradictory psyches, is what has kept me lurking and coming back since I discovered this community.
