I have Asperger’s (it’s a gift) and I’ve always used “can” instead of “may” in this context.
But more severe forms of bad grammar are my pet peeve. Especially if it’s intentional (fluffspeak doesn’t count though because it’s fluffspeak). Though if it’s a non-native speaker making the mistake, I don’t mind since I know it’s not their fault.
