Ballad of the sun Goddess part 1 by (that1hugboxer)

Arinniti spent the entire night struggling against her own hunger. Surely mumma wasn’t expecting her to eat kibble out of the litter box.
Try as she might Arinniti could not ignore the pain deep within her gut. Her wit and sass could not provide nourishment . Arinniti paced back and forth desperately trying to think her way out of this situation. With each step her ability to think clearly was slipping away. Arinniti decided to tear open the bag of remaining kibble with her teeth. She stumbled her way into the kitchen feeling around in the dark until she found what she had been looking for.It took some time but she did manage rip a hole in the side of the kibble bag. Arinniti’s celebration was cut short by her lack of foresight. The coveted kibble spilled forth with the ferocity of an avalanche reverberating like a hailstorm throughout the house. Arinniti was half buried beneath a veritable mountain of the long sought heavenly manna.

The pitter patter of groggy footsteps may as well been a goosestep signaling her impending demise. The light flicks on revealing Mumma Tammy. She stood in the doorway arms crossed dressed in a pearly white short sleeve evening gown, her clean shaven head adorned with matching night cap. Tammy’s face held neither an expression of anger nor contempt but rather one of tiresome inconvenience. She didn’t yell or scream but rather turned off the lights and returned to bed, her salmon pink slippers occasionally sticking to the floor with a sound similar to separating Velcro as she walked.

Arinniti simply laid motionless in disbelief. Mumma truly didn’t care if she needed help. Arinniti Stuck as she was could only gaze through the kitchen window as the moon slowly vanished from the sky ushering in the orange glow of the morning sun . The prismatic beams of light reflected by the window stung Arinniti’s eyes with their forbidden Beauty , vanishing from view mere moments later as if daring her to chase them. Arinniti unable to grasp the concept of irony was spared further humiliation by mercy of her own ignorance. Tammy was truly done with Arinniti after that incident. Trading her to a rather shady coworker named Gregor in exchange for an aqua fluff filly she named Simbi.

Arinniti was extremely apprehensive about going with Gregor despite his promises of skettie, there was something scary about Gregor. His tone and body language were just at odds with each other, a sweet and calming voice that felt nauseating to hear coming from his hulking frame , his unnaturally cheerful face twitching with impatience just beneath the skin .his baseball mitt sized hands gestured for Arinniti to come closer. Gregor easily could have snatched up Arinniti with his pointer finger and thumb, instead he was making her come to him. Arinniti knew full well if she went with him something terrible would happen. Tammy tired of Arinniti’s stubbornnes picks her up by the neck fat and shoves her into the milk carton sized pet carrier , locking it closed.

Gregor places the pet carrier in his car with excitement care . The ride to Gregor’s house was filled with artificially pleasant conversation between him and Arinniti. Bombarding her with questions about her comfort. The more questions Gregor asked the more Arinniti didn’t want to be there. Finally after what felt like hours the car pulls to a stop so gentle that no jolt was felt. Gregor places Arinniti’s pet carrier on the linoleum floor of his house’s interior, gently unlocking the door of the carrier and pulling it open slowly without so much as a squeak. Gregor notices Arinniti’s unwillingness to exit the carrier. In the same nauseatingly sweet and calming voice Gregor simply says “that’s alright sweetie ,there’s no rush. Come out when you’re ready.”Arinnit hears the pitter patter of soft hooves against the linoleum floor. “Oh that’s so sweet of you Jerath coming to greet your new friend. Unfortunately she’s a little shy at the moment.” Arinniti watches as a golden brown fluffy with velveteen like fluff approaching the front of the pet carrier peering inside with a curious expression, his eyes widen as he notices the teal foal cowering in its dark interior. Arinniti lets out a stammered “h.hewwo.” Jerath simply stares in silence “……”
“I’m sorry Arinniti ,Jerath doesn’t talk much.” Gregor looks at his watch. “Unfortunately It’s time for me to leave for work. There’s a food and water bowl for each of you in the safe room along with a litter box.” As Gregor pulls out of the driveway, Arinniti slowly exits the pet carrier. The house’s interior is decorated with innumerable bottled ships neatly displayed among dozens of hand carved driftwood shelves. The scent of pine-sol hung in the air Jerath broke the silence starting Arinniti.
“Babbie come wid Jewath.”Arinniti follows jerath all the while trying her best not to cry. Jerath leads Arinniti to the safe room. Inside are several mares and several babies. They seem happy and content playing with toys or chasing each other around. Not a speck of poop nor drop of pee was anywhere outside the litter box. One of the Babies approaches Arinniti. “Hewo new fwiend.” It was then Arinniti noticed that not just this fluffy but every fluffy in the safe room was completely devoid of any scent other than pine-sol and all of them had the same velveteen like fluff. All except for her.
