Something strange was happening to Queequeg.
He seemed to be Growing bigger
But that should be impossible
After all he was fully grown
You make a plaster imprint of Queequeg’s hooves
If Queequeg was fully grown then his hoof size should not have changed change when you check again in a month
Your suspensions are correct Queequeg is indeed still growing
Not only are his hooves larger his gate is wider too
You take Queequeg to the vet and it’s discovered that the reason he is still growing is quite simple.
“I’m sorry doctor I’m gonna need you run that by me again? I must have misheard you “
The vet scratches his head
“ I’m just as baffled as you are”
“He’s still a foal”
“How is he still a foal?!”
“Queeque is not fully grown but he is entering the later stage of development between foal and colt”
“I’d say after a few more growth spurts he will fully enter the colt stage of his life “
“ but Queequeg had a full mane when I got him two months ago “
The doctor shrugs
“I’ve seen chirpies come out of the womb with full manes .
Perhaps Queequeg’s parents had those genes”
You leave the doctors office and return home.
Queequeg was still learning how to play without hurting other fluffies
He wasn’t quite there yet but the injuries had gone from broken bones to merely scratches and light bruises
Queequeg is playing hide and seek when a large Jasmine colored mare waddles through the hole in the fence
Queequeg leaves his hiding spot to go and greet the fluffy
“Hewo new fwiend!”
“Hewo!”
The new fluffy replied
“Fwuffy am soon mumma “
Queequeg let the new fluffy stay in his doghouse
When daddy got home he named the new fluffy sugar bell
And prepared a place for her in the house
Daddy had a long talk with sugar bell about how poopie babies and monster babies aren’t made of poop and don’t eat fluffies
Sugar bell was also expected to teach her babies those things as well
Sugar bell stayed inside most of the time while jam and jelly were kept inside the home during the day to monitor her in case the babies came while daddy was at work
Daddy also gave them the same talk he had given sugar bell
Queequeg was lonely during the day but he understood that sugar bell needed jam and jelly’s
Help
Queequeg was going through his final growth spurt
Queequeg was truly a monster size fluffy
one could easily mistaken him for a Doberman or a similar sized canine
Then
One day the babies came
Excited cries of “biggest poopies!”
Were accompanied by an orchestra of numerous tiny chirps
Queequeg
Was happy for sugar bell
That night daddy double checked everything in the safe room
Then he unhooked Queequeg from the retractable leash
“You will guard the safe room door until morning!”
