Warning, Stupid Rant Incoming!
Hi, sorry, I wasn’t here for a long time. I checked here occasionally but I didn’t do any posts or comments around here. I was busy.
Anyway, I tried the drawing tutorial by @awfulfawn. Very amazing tutorial. Helped me a lot. But I am still working on creating my own style of fluffies. This is slight improvement from my old drawings that I posted here but it still looks so ugly and I hate it so much. I am still far away from “This will do”. I just hope that I will make it to “good enough”. I know that I will never reach “Perfect”, that I will never be good as most of the artists here, but I can try to reach what is perfect to me, despite not still not knowing how to be sure that I really got there or if I am just imagining it. I am trying to figure out how to improve and find out some online tutorials on how to improve scaling and make proper fluffy sizes and shapes, perspective, depth and how to do background, surroundings, movement and other things. It will be a long work and I am over 30, so, I hope that I will get better before I will be too old and unable to draw, maybe even having alzheimer or parkinson’s. Who knows what comes in the future? I should probably start drawing sooner, when I was younger, now it is too late. You know what they say about old dogs and new tricks. In the meantime, there are some story ideas that I have but I am not brave enough to try to draw them, so I will make them in text form.
That is all, thanks for reading my stupid rant. Oh, and happy new year that will be here soon.

Hey, don’t be so rough on yourself. If you think that way and loathe your creations, you’ll only harm your own abilities.
It’s very cute as it is - the only tip I have right now? When coloring, try to keep the strokes in one direction - for example, try to imagine what direction the fluffy’s fur goes, and do all pink strokes following that direction. Even if the coloring ends up uneven, that way it’ll look like fur texture.
But other than that, look at your own improvements. Be proud of the progress you make instead of saying “I’m not improving fast enough”. Don’t look at others as “I’ll never reach that level”, but as “one day I will be able to do that too”. Just compare this chonky fluff to your old ones! The proportions and chunkiness and little hooves! He looks so good.
Oh - and don’t worry about “creating your own style”. Styles emerge naturally with time, so you’ll find it just by continuing to draw. And remember - drawing should be fun. Don’t drown yourself in all the tutorials and practice things, make self-indulgent stuff too.
In short - you’re doing great, keep it up!!

Keep on drawing! I can already see improvement in your use of shapes already. No need to trash talk yourself out of learning a really fun skill to learn no matterhow old ya are. We all had to start somewhere. Fluffys are a great way to start because they are so silly looking by default. There’s a lot of forgiveness to be had. That a good sense of humor can more than make up for. Also the profile shot is a tough one to nail. Its tricky for me too and I’ve been drawing for 20+ years. Here I knows it’s not Christmas no more but here’s a fluffy tutorial that helped me out when I returned to the Fandom

Hey, art takes time to learn. Wanna hear something? I was in my 30s when I learned to crochet. Badly. The other day, I made this:
Just keep working on it. Besides, your first fluffy is enough of a fluffy that I saw it and thought, “I wanna kick it.” You can’t get fluffy-er than that.

You’re so hard on yourself, but this is an amazing leap forward from even your last pieces! It has personality, it’s 100% a fluffy, and you are absolutely developing a style all your own. I’m so glad you found my tutorial helpful! Keep at it, you’re already doing great!
