Blood blooming jasmine [FluffyStalker]

The night is cloudless and the starts shows mercy for the wild fluffy herds who’s eyes can never adapt to the darkness of the nighttime forest, it’s the perfect night to take more time to look for food near their nests and for the biggest fluffy herds to celebrate under the moonlight, they celebrate living another month and a new generation rising with colts and fillies playing around in the center of their nest and foals seeing moonlight for the first time on their mother’s back.

The story has been distorted and fragments have been lost through generations, but it is known that a nigh like this one was the origin of the blood jasmine, a variant of the night blooming jasmine tainted by the blood of countless generations of fluffies mauled by predators in their own nest, every cloudless night a few chosen fluffies will receive the strong smell of blood emanating from the blood jasmines around their nest, this is interpreted as a bad omen.

This belief has been deeply rooted among most wild fluffy herds and that is how it has been passed through fluffy generations, but this is far from the reality of it.

The few chosen ones are fluffies unlucky enough to suffer from the bloody snout syndrome, which is genetic and causes their brains to not translate smells correctly and detect them as blood, the most common smells affected by this syndrome are sweet smells which along the constant maiming of their population resulted on the belief of this plant’s blooming meaning bad omen.

This belief is reinforced by panicking fluffies that flee blindly, getting themselves killed and some times stomping on the foals during their panick attacks.
