Boredom ( by milky )

Boredom strikes one autumn evening, your body burning with unspent energy. You thump your foot against the carpet in irritation, flipping through countless boring television channels. You really should get a streaming service. Despite this thought, the restlessness becomes overwhelming and you finally shoot up from your spot on the couch. You’re going for a walk.

After slipping in a jacket and some gloves, you embark on your late night journey. The streets are relatively empty, most patrons either in the bars and clubs or at home. The fall chill eases a bit of your anxiety, cooling down your flushed skin. A sigh of relief escapes your lips, though it quickly inhales once more as your vision falls on the machine infront of you.

You pause, staring at the “foal-in-a-can” machine. Your brow arches curiously as brown eyes scan over the selection. Maybe THIS would cure your boredom? You hadn’t had a fluffy in months, not since the last one… passed away unexpectedly. The safe room remained unused and empty-- you figured eventually you’d fill it again so you left most of it untouched. Your hand fishes around in your pockets until you pull out a crumpled $5-- enough for two. Well, misery loves company, right?

You shove the mess of a bill into the machine. It takes a few tries, but finally you hear the tell tale sound of the machine registering the money. You glance over your options slowly, chewing on your bottom lip. One foal catches your eye almost immediately-- unicorn with a shiny gray coat and darker gray mane. It’s labeled “colt”. You punch in the numbers and watch as the can is unceremoniously dropped from the machine and into the dispenser. You ignore it for now and go looking for the next victim. It takes a moment of humming and hawing before you finally pick one-- an orangey-brown earthie with an orange mane. A filly, signaled by the little pink gender symbol on the outside of the can. With another thunk, you retrieve your new “pets”, shoving them into your coat pockets and returning home.

Well, certainly this will cure your boredom?
