Botfly (Lurking)

Gotta be careful when removing the larvae though, if not done right a part of the boys can break off and stay inside the skin which will then rot and cause infection

Its not just about blocking the airways. The actual scent of the oil is so overwhelming that it’s unbearable to arthropods of their size and they’ll actively try to escape the body to get away

But where’s it’s mouth?

Its mouth is on the other side of its body. Botfly larvae literally breathe through what scientists call a “butt snorkel”.

Unlike xenomorphs, which develope inside the host’s internal chest cavity before forcibly breaking through the ribcage, botfly larvae infest the epidermis (skin), creating a burrow-of-sorts known as a warble. Think of botfly infections as a splinter on crack.

I know, it’s not a xenomorph, I thought it was at first, so all this happened. It would’ve been nicer if it was a xenomorph chestburster though

Ah, that’s also not surprising. It does seem to be good at repelling flies and mosquitoes…citronella and lemon eucalyptus are probably more effective and DEET even moreso.
