There was a classic short comic bout a mare wanting babies and the owner agrees only she took care of them, but one esplowin baby shit the kitchen and died on a mousetrap and the owner got pissed on his fluffy. I think it was somewhere here or on reddit.
Looks to be padded to be non-lethal
If it’s a fluffy trap, it might be intended to capture or kill like that.
I think a lot of customers would be pissed off at constantly cleaning up after the trap if it popped it like an actual mouse trap would do to them.
It’s simple, but the perfect size for fluffies. I hadn’t even noticed the padding before, but that makes the shocking capture so much funnier! 
That flufftrap looks padded. I presume that the fluffy is merely held in place rather than suffering the broken spine that a proper mouse or rat trap would deliver.
