I hate to say it, but I have a feeling that the witch does this to avoid looking in the mirror and confronting her own flaws she sees in fluffies. That’s probably just me overthinking things so early in the morning, though

One of the lore rule never show her face in the mirror it will cause her to freak out and lash out in anger it will reminded her when she was falsely accused of being a witch and burned at the stake and her would be husband just ran away instead of defending her.
She knew her face is horrible and being a cursed being doesn’t even help that she was also a host of an ol fae dark magic awaken due to her anger.
Even she trys the magic to hide her face she knew its just a mask and wasnt real.
