Fluffies in sewers are always a good combo. Might use this as a basis for a story if that ok with you?

Agreed. Surviving fluffies breed. Breeding feral fluffies create herds. Herds destroy the environment.
The best thing for the environment is to remove fluffies from the environment. Preferably by domesticating, but if necessary, by hilariously violent means.
