Deadweight Xibalba Portraits (TJfluffnsnuff)

Throwback Thursday! Here’s some fanart of Deadweights OC Xibalba from Headgames. Wish I could provide a link to the original story but unfortunately there are only 3 of Deadweights stories that are saved here. Maybe someday an archiver will dig up Headgames and Marauders.

What is “Headgames and Marauders” please? Where are to dig to find that stories?

Deadweight is a writer for the late great Fluffybooru. His most cherished stories were named Headgames and Marauders. I looked on the archives and can’t find his stories either. Hell even used Google and Bing and it always takes me to the fluffy reddit.

Shoot, I was actually going to ask you if you had any leads. When doing research I saw you were a fan too. From what I’ve gathered and what I do remember Xibalba is an albino alicorn with psychic powers that was able to fly. Usually depicted amongst a horde of fluffy zombies. As seen in dust_collector and WTFs fan art.

An ominous looking Fluffy matching the name of an omnious deity.

Her name reminds me of the arch demon in hell that gave Spawn his powers in the HBO animated series. Its a really gritty but super good as far as cape shits concerned. Most of the episodes are on YouTube for free. Studio madhouse made it for HBO,the same animation studio that made BlackLagoon and Deathnote.

The animation was great but I felt it never quite lived up to the comic. Mind you, I’ve not seen or read Spawn for about 15 years (oh God, the ravages of time)!

Although, you referred to it as “cape shit”, so I’m guessing that kind of thing isn’t your cup of tea anyway?

I actually wanna read the OG comics. Todd McFarlands art is really cool I love the way he drew Spider-Man and Spawn. I hear his writing in the first few were a bit off but tightened up once he hired some good writers to help. (Pretty sad he he had to be taken to court, over not giving royalties, and creding them properly)
Yeah youd be right on me not liking a lot of it. However I blame that more on the modern adaptations of classic super hero stuff. That has soured my taste a bit.

Fair enough. I do like superhero stuff but I’d also happily agree it’s getting a bit bland a corporate at the moment.

You mentioned Black Lagoon too.

I’m going to make another educated guess that we can both admit was a visual treat!

I may come off as a hipster when it comes to super hero stuff. However im open to recommendations and, if you like that stuff awesome; as a nerd I can’t shit on you for it. Lol
Like any form of media there are diamonds in the rough.
Definitely we can agree on that! It had an an artstyle that could be called American Anime. The Batman animated series had a really cool look to it too. The Marvel animated series from the 90s like, Spider-Man, Xmen, Incredible Hulk, and several other properties they put out. Had cool artstyle the story lines get a bit dramatic and delve into soap opera territory. Its aged well and still holds up today.

I grew up watching all of these! I feel very old all of a sudden… :joy:

You’re in good company. I grew up watching those on WB and CN.

The first GTA game I ever got was Vice City… ;-;

I’m an old hag at this point.

Not video game related but the other day, my younger sister said “You’re so old that milfs aren’t milfs anymore, they’re just attractive women your own age”.

Thats still a good game and aged like wine IMO. The story line being inspired by Scarface and Miami Vice. The vivid pastel 80s color scheme. Mine was Gta 3.

That is some serious throwback. Now I’m expecting to see som Feyascia art, like a pavlovian dog.

She’s a classic fluffy I haven’t drawn yet. Probably will in the future. The Booru had a lot of cool OCs. I have drawn Maroon, and Stompy before.

:glee: Thank you so much! Thats such a huge compliment; especially when its coming from one of the Booru legends that created and illustrated. The Fluffy Sink (Story by Gardel, Art by Fluffus) and A Star is Born Comic 1/16 (Fluffus). Loved those they inspired me to not just lurk but actually contribute my pen and ink heavy artwork.
