“HUUU-HUUU DADDEH, NU GU SWEEPIES!” Nebula sobbed for many forevers in the lap of her owner’s corpse, giving him as many hugs and as much love as she could muster, trying to will him back to health with her affwction. Of course it wouldn’t work, it couldn’t work, Nathan had died on impact, he was well beyond saving before the poor fluff had gathered her senses.
That’s when she felt them, her tummeh babbehs, in the brief moment of chaos she had forgotten about them but perhaps stirred on by her sadness something inside her reminded her she couldn’t stay here, she knew her Daddeh didn’t keep nummies in the truck, not after her last accident. That’s when the thoughts began to form in her tiny, tiny mind, if she wanted to see her babbehs survive she would have to go find nummies, go find safety somwhere.
With a snotty sniffle she looked uo at her owner’s face, speaking up in a horase, raspy voice from all the crying. “Sowwy Daddeh, Nebuwa nu gu tu skettiland wif yu, need tu protect tummeh babbehs…Wub yu…” She hugged the corpse one land time, musterimg as much strength as she could to give him as good of a send off as possible.
After saying goodbye she did her best to clamber out of the truck, using the runner rails to suport herself. Of course being a fkuffy she lacked the dexterity to make it out smoothly but the point was she only fell a tiny bit and considering the crssh she had just survived it barely felt like anything anymore.
As she stood up pnto her hooves the fluff looked around, desert as far as they eye could see in all directions, a sun scorched landscape not suited for most life, let alone the humble fluffy. There weren’t any cars along the road that Nebula could see, that left only one option, wander out inti the desert and try to find something, anything to feed herself so he babbehs could grow big and strong.
To her suprise thiugh she did hear some voices, fluffy voices. Of course! The fluffies in the back, some must have survived. Scampering as fast as her hooves could take her she ran to the back of the truck. What she found was chaos, three fluffies were runnung around, sobbing their eyes out, one was hiding under the truck. Worse than that though was the smell, the scent of death was on the air and she soon saw the source, so many of the fluffies were being transported were dead, ripped apart from the crash. One even had been split apart from being smashed into his cage, like he had been pushed through a grate.
Outside of the four fluffies that were free there was one more alive, still in his cage, screaming and sobbing so very loudly, even for a fluffy. “SABE BISKIT FWOM MEANIE CAGEIE MUNSTAH! HAB BIGGEST HUWTIES! HUUUUU…” Nebula quickly dashed up, trying to help the poor stallion out of it. She had seen her Daddeh use theze plenty of before so she had gathered a good idea of how they worked, unfortunetly the cheap steel rod that made uo the lock had been twistes to the point of not being functional, effectivley ssntancing the Biscuit to death.
Turning away from Biscuit she looked at the fluffies that were still panicking and she raised her voice, as loud as it could go. “EVEWYFWUFF WISTEN TU NEBUWA!” Her shout had drawn their attention to her, their screams and cries quieting for a moment. “Dere am nu nummies here, nu wawa, fwuffies nee tu gu find nummies if nu wan foweba sweepies.” Thst caused one of the fluffies, a orange stallion to mutter 'nu wan foweva sweepies" quietly.
“Fowwow Nebuwa, we find nummies an wawa and homsies!” At first she found her voice to be uncertain but the more she spike the more confidence she found before she turned and began to march off into the desert, the other fluffies for their part looked at each ither before reluctantly starting to follow in a single file line.
That was until a loud cry errupted from behund them. “NU LEAVE BISKIT! BISKIT AM STUCKIES! NU WAN BE AWONE! PWEEZE!” He begged and sobbed, rattling his cage as he watched the group waddled off.
A few of them looked back but Nebula was quick to restore resolve. “Dere am nu hewping Biskit, meanie munstage cageie give him stuckies, he awady fowebea sweepies, us tu if we nu gu!” And with the the group walked, or rather waddled into the desert, trying their best to ignore the sounds of begging and screaming behind them.
