They have so much fluff and they do groom each other a lot so I can imagine they’d occasionally have to deal with them.
Probably they do when they are young. Older ones might know that it’s better to just spit the hair out right away, than to swallow it.
Imagine a fluffy choking and dying from a hairball. That’d be beyond pathetic, even for a fluffy!
Might actually make a one shot about that…
That definitely makes sense. I imagined they don’t get them super often since they can just spit the hair out but it’d definitely take a while for them to learn that they need to do that unless told by an adult
Honestly
for a second i thought the first two draws were a fluffy scratching its ass on the floor
That eould be an interesting new way for them to die! X3
No, but only due to marketing.
I think Fluffies were manufactured not to shed, one of the benefits of being a toy pet is that it avoids the mess of an actual pet (shitting notwithstanding)
Plus the idea that Fluff is properly adhered to a Fluffy helps explain why it hurts them so much to have the Fluff ripped off of them.
If it’s adhered, does it still grow back? I can see them making fluffies so they don’t shed nearly as much as cats or dogs would. It’s a total pain in the ass to deal with shedding
Yeah she’s been lobotomized so she doesn’t sit like a normal fluffy
I’ve owned cats my entire life - longhair, shorthair, dandruffy, clean, specialized breeds, strays - and worked at a vet office for quite a while, and I’ve actually never actually seen a cat have a hairball. Not once. I’m not sure if it’s a myth or if it just doesn’t happen in this climate, but I doubt fluffies would get them if it’s so rare in cats.
I believe it usually depends on how much the cat grooms themselves and how often they’re brushed. From what I’ve read it’s normal for them to get hair balls at least once a month since the majority of what they swallow just passes normally. Maybe you’ve just gotten particularly lucky? From personal experience mine only get them every once in a while, not even once a month.
Well, that sounds incredibly annoying and disgusting, so they probably do.
That was like half of my thought process. It just another gross thing for them to bother their owners with X3
In the southeastern USA they can get hairballs frequently depending on the coat and grooming habits. I have all shorthairs and two have zero issues but my big male sheds like he’s growing a whole new cat and grooms more, and he gets them in spring and fall. Have had others of varying coat lengths that did or didnt, but it always seemed related to either shedding or being super extra licky.
Thank you! :3 your style is absolutely wonderful as well!
I have both cats and dogs as pets throughout my whole life,my cats groom themselves a lot and therefore make a lot of hairballs.
they don’t like being brushed, only enjoy being pet and gently massage by me.
Usually, after massaging them my hands would be covered in fur, they really shed like crazy I can build another two cats with their fur.
but for fluffies…I think their grooming habits are more like dogs.
Only groom after giving birth, when they are injured and having anxiety problems.
Usually their fur can come out with poop with no problem.
but fluffies have really shitty body, which is reasonable because the seller want you to buy new ones quickly.
I don’t think they throw up hairballs, not because of they can digest it perfectly fine, but because of it could be one of the reason that shortens their lifespan to help them sell more products.
My cats love being brushed so much they swat me if I suddenly stop!
