(but I don’t know if the color scheme green/purple = villains work with every culture → I know it’s based on christian origin)
green become the color of judas (even if it was yellow at first) at some point
edit : I find no real source about judas wearing green (his color being and remaining yellow) → the only thing I find about it is that green was banned from theater (in France) after the death of Molière as he plaid in a green costume ? MEH ! I thought it was the colour of judas on stage
edit bis : the only thing I could find is that after XVIe century green has been related to green devils and frogs and purple to mystical, wisdom and spirituality.

It’s also because a lot of early superheroes were wearing red and blue, and green and purple contrasts nicely with that.
