Well… I imagine that he is just a sentient black hole. The only reason we see him is because his body eats all light, just leaving a small black dot no matter how far we zoom in.

hehe it’s because it is a reference to a czech cartoon from my childhood, Ferda Mravenec (Ferda the Ant), kinda surprised no one pointed it out.
And the size is cuz I’m horrible at consistency. Maybe the worm is still very young?
