I suppose even if you added a furnace or something to the bottom to activate once every so often to clear out the container you’d still need to empty the ashes and regrease the pipe due to the heat…
Since you cant just dump a bunch of ashes into the sewer I imagine.
Maybe have the tube produce statatic electricty, and just wrap the outside in coiled wire ti would produce electricity? Make it produce something instead of just ash.
I misread “warmies” as “wormies” and wondered why they’d want worms.
Figured it was just an eldritch creature composed of worms devouring them down there and it failed to communicate as they sometimes do when mimicing our language.
Drawbacks? I’d kill to have that job. Just give me a machete and a pack of garbage bags.

The only flaw I see is if it ends up catching domestic pets like cats or dogs. Wouldn’t want an animal injury.
Just place an incinerator at the bottom and check it once a month.
This is a really interesting idea. You don’t see a lot done with traps like this anymore, but I’m glad to see ideas like this coming back.
