Writing a comic strip i can make weekly, basics of the setting is ferals living in a post civilization wasteland and im interested in hearing some ideas from the audience : ]
I remember seeing a documentary about a world without humans and one thing that stuck in my head is that rust dilates iron, so if water gets to the iron bars inside concrete buildings, it would make them expand and break the concrete, making buildings fall at random with a boom. Maybe this time, boomin munstah really means something to be scared about.
Robots from the movie Chopping Mall patrolling the area
Starving fluffies trying to get twinkies out of a broken vending machine
I like the classic mutants in a nuclear wasteland like Metro or Fallout. You could also lean into shenanigans with ghosts, reclaimed nature, etc.
- Feral herd searches for a home, comes upon abandoned fluffy-mill/fluffmart. Within they find sturdy housing, a number of manual wheel/treadmills connected to a generator. The mill/mart used this to enrich the fluffies instead of letting them outside, and in return they got big savings on energy consumption. In the overgrown alleyway next to the mart/mill there’s a sketti machine conveniently powered by the same generator circuit. Queue fluffy utopia/dystopia community.
Tallahassee breaks through the wall and practice his second amendment right of feral asses
Well most likely there could be evolved or mutated animal species via natural selection or nuclear fallout. I have a couple critter designs that could fit the setting. One is a body hortor bug that in its juvenile phase before adulthood would kill a chirpie by slurping up its liquified insides and then wear it like a skin suit so it can hide amongst the Fluffy Family and gradually feast on the litter each night until it matures into adulthood and feed on the mare. In its adulthood it camouflages with the mosdy or swampy landscale and emit a pheromone which to a fluffy smells like sketties or something sweet and delicious. Then it paralyses with its venomous proboscis and slurp up its insides until its a shriveled husk or leaves it in a horrid half-life paralysed as the toxins slowly kill the fluffy as they foam from the mouth.
The other critter may fit in a more arid desert environment in the post-apocalyptic wasteland. It looks a viper as big as an Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake and it has a sandy yellow and red streaked color pattern. When coiled up into a ball it resembles a pile of spaghetti with its bulbous tail resembling a meatball. It hunts by waving its tail to gain the attention of a Fluffy and once its close enough, the snake strike. Its fangs inject a potent venom before eventually swallowing its prey whole.
I have notes on other creatures thst could fit in for this post-apocalyptic setting for different biomes. Swamps, Forests, Mountains, Tundras, Jungles, Beaches or Coastal areas, Subterranean places such as caves or old tunnels, etc.
Fluffies fight over realistic sex dolls to be their mummah/daddeh.
Former vroomy munstas (cars) are now a favorite nesting spot and are fought over viciously.
Roving packs of feral dogs are now more of a problem than ever before because fluffies make excellent prey.
One smarty and his herd have taken over a grocery store. A rival herd wants it for themselves.
In a world with no artificial heat source, not even the ambient heat from buildings in the city, the cold times are a whole new ordeal.
feral herd makes several Looney Tunes-esque attempts to get food from a busted vending machine (it’s either this or eat the designated poopie)
The fluffy who figures out how to make bawkie fwens is king.
So, Post-Apocalypse is inexorably linked with a societal collapse that usually involves the decimation of humanity. Since Humans are so central to the existence of fluffies, I think most of everything would be focused on how a fluffy’s programming adapts (or doesn’t) to this environment.
I also think it would be really funny for fluffies to mistake statues for humans, leading to a cult-like worship of these statues and disturbing fluffy logic can ensure.
Another fun idea would be whether or not fluffies are affected by radiation. Maybe they aren’t at all, since they’re not natural creatures.
Fluffies in fertile pocket in an agricultural state learning to be more self sufficient and they can perform some basic farming. They might use what was left of greenhouses as shelters and in this case, the smarties were the fluffies who could remember how to plant and grow crops. The challenges would be protecting their scrap of land from roaming feral herds or other creatures from the waste.
There was an abandoned strip called Postfluff which was a pseudo supernatural Stalkeresque world. I think something can work with your slight weirdbox leanings.
