Good to know
Whatever you do, please keep it consistent.
I am not eager to keep tabs on which content needs groups to opt in, which to opt out, and what content needs filters after all.
Needing to join a group to see certain content is really unnecessary when filters exist and have also worked as far as I could tell. I was totally fine filtering anthro for a while before it became content locked behind a group. No incidents of unwanted anthro creatures in my feed if the author tagged their posts correctly. Heck, I even missed out on the shitposting category because its group locking happened way before I even joined. You should definitely communicate the content lock groups better in any case.
I envision the day when some new guy joins this site to enjoy fluffy content only to find nothing in his feed since everything will be group locked lol.
Either use negative content access (filters) or positive content access (group joinings), but for the love of God don’t switch it around for every fucking group. The best case scenario would be when groups’d be some kind of pre-made filter settings for the really lazy to still get an authentic hugboxer/abuser/whatever browsing experience.
tl;dr: groups = BAD, filters = GOOD
…I can’t code filters. I can’t code anything. Hell I’m hiring someone to code a booru-view for us
And I’m really sorry that I didn’t know everything about this forum software when I set up the site.
I had to get a good, stable site up and running as quickly as possible, and I had very little time to review the options.
The last year has been a whole lot of trial and error, and I’m still learning new things about the software at least once a week
(not to mention that they’re developing new options for it every couple of weeks)
So that’s why I have not been consistent.
I agree that it’s incredibly frustrating.
It’s even more frustrating when you realize that something isn’t working nearly as well as you thought it would and suddenly half a dozen people are pinging you at 4 am to tell you how much of an idiot you are.
Part of the reason for this poll is to let people see that a change is potentially coming.
I’m trying to do better.
And I apologize for the missteps I’ve made along the way.
This site exists for less than a year, so for now we do most things using exclusively common sense and trial and error method. In the future when someone join, everything will be consistent enough to not even question it
Staff does get pretty wild sometimes…
I actually have no opinion on this (dammit Virgil, why did you have to make the third option the most rudest)
Because it’s funny.
I actually chose that one too.
Ohhh, the fuck you Virgil brother
I’m going opt-out. For the simple fact people are more lazy about things They like it or don’t care about it either way. People who go into the I don’t like this category are move active about it.
That annoys me, too. I post something and get flak for it, and I’m like:
“Why the F!?k did you click on it in the first place!??”
I hate that too.
Yeah, I know what you went through this week.
I’m there for ya, bro.
@Guodzilla @ArtfulEon
You both do great work although some of it totally doesn’t suit me, which is why I’m so glad for the filters and groups (especially for the NSFW stuff). I’m quite thankful for the work the staff has put into getting things to this point allowing us to tailor the content to our needs and sensibilities.
Yep I’m alright with that
Thanks!
I feel that way about Nixa. I don’t like guro, but her style, technique, composition, etc. are next-level/god-tier! As a trained artist I can look past the “don’t like” and appreciate the elements I can recognize.
I personally think it should be opt out. This is literally a site that features torturing imaginary pig-horses. I think the less accepting people can stand to see the gayness for a bit before clicking a box.
Frankly, I don’t see a point, if you don’t like something then don’t seek it out just to say you don’t like it. I also don’t understand the importance of this topic.
I don’t claim to be an authority on this subject, though I suppose I am part of the community. All I can say is that if you don’t like LGBT stuff then there’s no point opting into seeing it.
Frankly, I’m not even sure if I’m a part of this community anymore. All I can say is that if you want to see it, don’t go halfway, and if you don’t like it then don’t join.
@Virgil fuck you
Valid answer
Opt-out. Everyone else has who has chosen this option has voiced what I think about this.
