Ooh that’s an interesting idea, unintentionally smothering hugs.
I think I’ve seen mothers accidentally smother their foals before but not often, siblings killing each other is new but given how blind, feeble and obsessed with ‘huggies’ they are, I’m surprised it’s not more commonplace.

I remember a bratty, self-proclaimed “bestest” baby (his mother called him “poopie”) who stomped out his own sister’s eye (she was the one that Mummah called “bestest”) when they were both only a few minutes old. Being a blind newborn, he didn’t know what he was stepping on, or why the other baby was screaming, but he didn’t care because he wanted more milk and she was in the way.
