Fluffies and religion (by Rescue_9)

Speaking as somebody familiar with the faith, whatever decision the Catholic Church makes on fluffies would depend on the Pope. Speaking from a point of ethics I feel that the issue is with the creator playing God, and not the Creation itself.

In addition, I know the Church is hard on human genetic engineering, but not animal engineering, so a potentially more eco-Pope with a focus on eco-ethics could promote better care and development of fluffies.

I could see the liberal congregations doing that and maybe the crazier Evangelicals but Catholics would be a HARD no same with most Muslims outside of the West. If it’s a head cannon where they have Human DNA (stupid concept really since everything shares DNA hell we share 90% of ours with slugs) used in the creation that’s gonna be a no for anything but the most liberal of churches and religions

That sounds like a way to get some Vatican 2 tier controversy if the Pope at the time isn’t careful

The church will get divided on this, that is the only thing I can be sure about

Vatican 2 did lead to a better understanding of the gospel among the laity. Conservative as the Church can be, it does try to adapt to its times, a reason why it has endured so long.

I do agree with you that the Church would be a hard no on fluffies with human DNA, but I can see them being more lenient if fluffies are engineered without a human origin.

A fluffy is a long way from simple genetic engineering we are familiar whit and it would be out right seen as a mockery of god at best they would be seen as abomination

The average man may be ambivalent but the actual church would not be so lenient they would have nothing good to say about fluffies

Try to see it more as a primitive, primal conception of a god, like Zeus or Tengri. The being you identify with the thing that’s bigger than everything, and encompasses all of it.

As in “Sky Daddeh” or “Invisible Man in the Sky/Clouds”?

I’m just saying, it’s not the inherently ridiculous conception of divinity it might at first seem.
