I wanted to include the tears are a waste of good suffering line in the dialogue. But translating everything into fluff speak was getting mind numbing towards the end.

Yeah same here! I remember the first time I watched a movie marathon of the series with my dad in my teens. The later movies get so over the top violent to the point its kind of funny.
Likewise! His books and oil paintings are fascinating.
