Fluffy Blood (Ver. 1) (By Forixiom)

It was a nice day, the sun shining brightly through the clouds while slowly falling into the horizon. A small herd of Fluffies was walking around the suburban area of the city and were smart enough to use the back alleys to avoid being killed by some random on a car. They were 5 adult Fluffies, with 7 foals. The leader of the herd was an orange unicorn stallion with a silver mane. There were two mares and two other stallions. One earthy mare was color maroon with a dark green mane, the other pegasus mare was a deep purple with a pink mane. One pegasus stallion was green with a golden mane, the other earthy was deep blue with a purple mane. The maroon mare had 4 foals in the weanling stage, their colors being brown with a grey mane, orange with dark green mane, silver with a maroon mane, and dark green with an orange mane. The purple mare only had three foals who only recently had opened their eyes, being pink, black and one of them yellow with a broken leg that had healed incorrectly.

They were walking while smelling for any edible trash accessible to them, while the Smarty was looking around the fences for a way inside someone’s backyard so they could eat some grass. The blue stallion had been eating some of the gross weeds that managed to grow between the cracks. “Bewy hungwy…” Said the maroon mare slightly sad, tilting her head down. “Nu wowies. Smawty wiww find gud nummies.” Replied the Smarty determined, looking back at his herd. “Bebbehs leggie stiw nu wowkie…” Commented the purple mare somewhat depressed, looking back at her yellow foal. The foal’s leg had clearly healed but was slightly bent at the fracture and seemed painful to walk with. The foal seemed sad while the others only looked tired and hungry. “Mistaws cud fix bebbeh.” Said the blue stallion somewhat thoughtful. “No wemembew? Daddeh huwt bebbeh. Fwuffies find missy instead.” Replied the Smarty somewhat serious. Then something caught his eye.

A little bit farther ahead was a run-down fence, with multiple entrances for them. The herd approached the fence and looked through the holes. “Wotsa gwass nummies!” Said the maroon mare excitedly. “Wait. Smawty wook fiwst.” Indicated the Smarty somewhat serious, stopping the mare from entering by getting in the way. “Otay.” Replied the maroon mare slightly surprised, taking a step back. The smarty then entered the backyard.

The backyard was a mess. The grass was overgrown, and some other herds had been here before based on the sight of dry poop. The grass was pretty long on some points, barely taller than the smarty, and on some others it had been clearly gnawed upon. A house could be seen, towering over the grass. It had been stripped down, only the wooden walls and framework being present. It looked mostly like a house right before the last stage of construction, but it was clearly starting to wear down. There still were windows, but they were mostly dirty and a few broken. The doors had their paint worn down and there was no furniture outside. The smarty went up the stairs of the deck. They creaked. He then scratched at the door for a few seconds and waited for a response. A minute passed but no sounds where heard. Thought the smarty relieved. Then he went back to his herd.

The smarty’s herd looked at him hopeful. “Gu an eat nummies. Nu peopwe, Smawty thwinks.” Said the smarty somewhat confident in his knowledge. The herd entered and looked at the long grass. “Wotsa’ nummies! Gonna maek wots of miwkies fow bestest bebbehs.” Said the maroon mare happily, quickly going to a nice patch of shorter grass. The others also started eating. “Smawty find way tu get in tu housie.” Said the smarty somewhat serious. Then he went below the deck and started exploring. The maroon mare let her foals down and they started looking around.

The smarty got into the maze below the floorboards. Light bounced from outside and seeped through the floor above to illuminate good enough. The smarty looked around, hoping to find an entrance. While exploring he came face to face with a big spider. “Wha! Leggie munstah!” Exclaimed the smarty scared, scuttling backwards. The spider got startled and crawled away, hiding in a crack. The smarty felt confident. “Hmf. Smawty scawe leggie munstah away. Am bestest.” Said the smarty confidently. Then he continued exploring. He eventually found a hole in the floor, droplets of water having rotten the wooden planks. The drops took a considerable time to fall. A pile of rotten wood and dust piled below the hole, making it so a Fluffy could climb up. The smarty climbed up with a bit of difficulty.

The smarty saw he was below a sink. The doors of the cabinet creaked open as he pushed them and then he looked inside the house. It was just as empty as outside and this time without most doors. He was in the kitchen, the only remaining furniture being the kitchen counter with its doors beneath, but lacking a refrigerator, stove, etc. There was also some broken glass sprinkled next to him but not in the way. It felt a bit warmer than outside. The smarty then returned with his herd.

All the adults were eating, while the maroon mare’s foals played together. The purple mare’s foals were cuddling on her back as she ate. The yellow foal still seemed sad even though its siblings were hugging it. The smarty ate with them. After everyone was full, took a dump, and pissed, the smarty talked to them again. “Wets go into housie. Is wawmiew dan outie an nu one is inside.” Said the smarty somewhat confident. Then the herd went inside the house, following the smarty.

The mares had to let down their foals when climbing. The blue stallion grabbed the foals and passed them to the mares as per the directions of the smarty. Then he also climbed up. “Uuuhh, nicy housie.” Said the green stallion somewhat amazed, looking at everything. Everyone went and explored the house, though avoided going up the stairs because they were tired. The maroon’s foals walked, though accompanied their mother all the time. The kitchen was fairly big, enough to hold a good size table to eat in. On the corner was an entrance to the maintenance room. On the middle was the hallway, which also housed the stairs. Next to the kitchen was the bathroom, but it only had the pipes that used to connect to the sink and toilet. It also had a broken window. On the opposite side of the house was first the living room, which was slightly smaller than the kitchen and curiously had no broken windows. Next to that was a multi-purpose room. The beginning to the stairs was right next to the entrance of the living room.

The mares went and laid down on the would-be living room. “Time fow miwkies bebbehs.” Said the mares happily, sitting down. The purple mare helped her babies off her back, letting them down in front of her. The babies chirped adorably while slowly crawling to their mother’s teats. “Miwkies!” They said happily, except for the yellow foal with a broken leg, who painfully crawled even slower. It made pained chirps, at which its mother felt sad. The maroon mare’s foals went quickly to her teats, except for the brown one. It simply sat close by looking discouraged, apparently having resigned to wait for its siblings to drink first. The stallions looked thirsty, so they both went to lick the water droplets from below the sink.

The smarty yawned and sat down. He was waiting for the stallions to return before sleeping. Some time passed when suddenly he heard the stallions scream in surprise. The smarty instantly got up and went to check on them, going as fast as his little legs would let him. The stallions seemed panicked, looking at the floor. “S-Scawy noise.” Said the green stallion scared, actually trembling. The blue stallion only seemed startled. The smarty noticed how there were scratching noises below the floor. “Gu pwotect mawes an’ bebbehs.” Ordered the smarty seriously. The stallions looked at him and then ran to the living room. The sound below the floor continued moving, and the smarty noticed that the sound echoing through the hole was getting closer. The smarty stood firmly, waiting for whatever thing was coming. The sound just kept coming closer, getting louder and more menacing. It was like someone was scratching their nails against the wood. Small but hard steps could be heard. The smarty started trembling ever so slightly, his imagination going wild on what thing was getting closer. The smarty closed his eyes and then something popped up from the hole. “What Fwuffy doing hewe?” Asked a voice similar to a Fluffy’s. The smarty opened his eyes and saw a Coluffy peeking through the hole.

The Coluffy climbed out with ease and looked at the smarty. The Coluffy was higher than the smarty by half a head thanks to its longer legs with shorter fur. It had two horns, just like a cow, around the same size as a unicorn Fluffy. Its ears were sideways, arching up. Its tail was like a cow’s, with the colored fluffy part being at the end. He was color light blue, with a copper mane. He was also covered in healed slashes, with a few hairless spots, with clear burn scars inside. The smarty stopped being fearful. “Dummeh Coow Fwuffy. Dis am hewd housie nao. Weave ow get wowest huwties.” Ordered the smarty determined and somewhat serious. “Ah, no knew. Sowwy.” Replied the Coluffy somewhat surprised. “Den weave.” Ordered the smarty determined and somewhat serious. The Coluffy started thinking for a few seconds. “Want to join hewd. Have new fwiends.” Said the Coluffy somewhat supplicant, making a somewhat sad pose. The smarty seemed surprised.

The Coluffy got out from below the sink and sat in front of the smarty. The smarty relaxed and analyzed the Coluffy. “Name Anthony.” Said the Coluffy slightly happy. “Yu am mawe?” Asked the smarty somewhat serious yet slightly curious, noticing that he didn’t have testicles. “No. Peopwe that gave me to owd scawy mastew take bawws. No can have babies no mowe.” Answered Anthony somewhat mad yet slightly depressed. The smarty thought about it for a few moments more. “Otay, can join Smawty’s hewd.” Said the smarty slightly serious. The smarty then turned around. “Fowwow Smawty.” Indicated the smarty slightly serious. Anthony followed the smarty to the living room.

The stallions were surprised to see that the scary sound was simply a Coluffy. “Coow fwuffy make scawy noisy?” Asked the green stallion intrigued. The smarty nodded. The purple mare took a good look at Anthony. “Coow Fwuffy nu pwetty.” Said the purple mare condescending. Anthony just looked at her directly at the eye. “I not cawe what you think.” Replied Anthony slightly annoyed. The mare seemed surprised and didn’t say another word. Anthony got close to the maroon mare’s foals and smelled them. “Coow Fwuffy am bewy big.” Said the orange foal amazed, looking at Anthony. Anthony smiled as did the maroon mare. Then he looked at the smarty, which now lied on the ground. “What you name?” Asked Anthony somewhat happy. The smarty looked at Anthony. “Munstah daddeh nu gib namesies.” Answered the smarty slightly tired. Anthony thought about it for a moment. “Then I give names.” Said Anthony happily. Everyone seemed surprised a creature similar to them could come up with names.

Anthony named everyone, including the foals, with names he could think of. He named the smarty Rob, a name of his previous owner’s friend, which actually was nice to him compared to his owner. He named the green stallion Grape, very self-explanatory. The blue stallion was named Talus, the name from the character Anthony saw his owner usually play Paladins with. The maroon mare was called Crimson, a different way to say red Anthony remembered. The purple mare was called Bramble, just a name Anthony weirdly remembered. They were all happy with their names and then they all took a nap.

When they woke up it was sunset hour. The orange rays of the sun showed the dust where it could pass directly. Anthony wasn’t particularly tired, so he woke up first. He took a look around the house. Rob woke up as well and didn’t see Anthony. “Whewe Anthony gu’?” Asked Rob sleepy yet slightly intrigued. He then decided to search for him, so he got up and looked around the house.

Rob found Anthony while he has going up the stairs. “Waiwt!” Indicated Rob slightly serious. Anthony stopped and looked back at Rob. “Nu gu’ awone. Bad thing can hapen’ wen awone.” Said Rob slightly worried. Anthony seemed surprised at how kind he sounded. “Am stwong, can take anyfing.” Said Rob confidently, starting to go up the stairs. They both reached the top floor.

The top floor lacked doors as well. It seemed to only have three rooms, which meant it was slightly smaller than the main floor. They went into the different rooms. One was a bathroom which was positioned on the opposite side to the stairs. It clearly was the main bathroom, though only the bathtub and the door remained. The other room had less than nothing, only the essential floorboards remaining. The last room had the base for a bed, but without a mattress. The window on the front side of the house were all smashed, most glass on top of the bed base. There was also a closet with door blinds. “Nu pwetty smeww comin’ fwom sowwy woom.” Said Rob somewhat intrigued. Anthony noticed it too. A weak smell reminiscent of rotten flesh came from inside the closet.

Rob and Anthony approached the closet. “How to open?” Asked Anthony intrigued, looking at the different details of the door. Rob tried circling the door to no avail, as the closet was on the corner and extruded from the wall but there was no other opening on its side. Anthony had an idea. He placed his cow like hoof between the blinds and lifted the front, getting a good grab on the door. Then he walked backwards, leaving his hoof between the blinds. The door seemed to be partly stuck, but Anthony was strong enough to eventually get it unstuck. The door opened suddenly, hitting Rob on the nose. “Owwie! Smeww pwace hab wittle owies.” Said Rob slightly distressed, starting to stroke his nose. A few moments later both of them looked inside the closet.

Rob and Anthony seemed shocked to see what was inside. The body of a woman was hanging inside from a rope tied to a board of the ceiling. The rope was firmly tied to her neck, her head hanging excessively to the side. Her body looked anemic and smelled bad. She was wearing some old clothes and her eyes were shut. Rob looked at her seriously. “Missy, git down an’ pwease hewp bebbeh.” Indicated Rob seriously. Anthony got a shiver down his spine. “No think Miss awake. I think she sweep fowevew.” Said Anthony slightly worried, taking a slightly nervous pose. Rob seemed to think about it for a few moments. “Twue, no tawkies an’ nu move.” Replied Rob thoughtful, taking a few moments. “Wets gu back tu hewd.” Said Rob slightly serious. Anthony followed Rob out of the room.

As soon as Rob and Anthony faced the other way the corpse opened its eyes. They circled around her head for an instant and then focused on both of them. They were red, filled with rage and despair. The eyes followed them until they went out of the room, leaving her sight. The rope seemingly started to decay and eventually broke, the body falling to the floor like if her bones weren’t connected. Her bones creaked while she lifted up her head, looking at the entrance of the room with a face full of hatred.

Rob and Anthony reached the bottom of the stairs and went to the living room. The mares were cuddling their foals, while the stallions were relaxing. “Wob, Gwape hungwy. Can go fo’ nummies?” Asked Grape discouraged. “Bwambwe hungwy tu’. Nee nummies nao.” Said Bramble demanding, stopping cuddling her foals. “Otay, buh fiwst, find whewe poopies gu’.” Replied Rob somewhat confident. Talus immediately stopped what he was going to do. “Poopy smeww bad. Findy pwace whewe nu smeww poopies.” Indicated Rob somewhat serious. They went and searched for a place for them to poop while inside the house. The room on the opposite side of the living room only had one doorway, so they decided that they would defecate there.

Rob looked at the foals patiently waiting for their mothers. “Who take cawe of bebbehs?” Asked Rob slightly serious. “Nu hungwy. Gib wub tu bebbehs, mummahs gu num.” Responded Talus friendly. “Gunna make bestest miwkies.” Sang Crimson happily, heading for the kitchen. “Otay Tawus, be guh daddeh.” Said Rob somewhat confident. Talus nodded happily. Then everyone else went to the kitchen as well.

Bramble’s foals started chirping while also calling for their mother. “Come bebbehs. Tawus wiw gib wawm huggies.” Said Talus friendly. The foals crawled towards Talus, who now laid belly down on the floor. When close enough Talus grabbed the yellow foal and put him close to his chest. Then he hugged all the cute foals. The foals chirped happily, clearly enjoying the love given by Talus. Crimson’s foals saw that and decided to cuddle next to Talus’s side. “Tawus wub Bwambwe’s bebbehs.” Said Talus happily. Then he nuzzled them with his snout.

Rob and the rest of the herd came out from below the deck and started eating. Anthony got close to Bramble, at which she seemed displeased. “Gu away ugwy Coow Fwuffy.” Ordered Bramble annoyed. Anthony looked at her irritated. “You go away dummy.” Replied Anthony irritated by her attitude. “Wob! Hewp!” Shouted Bramble scared. Anthony seemed surprised while Rob quickly arrived. “Wha happen’?” Asked Rob seriously, looking around for anything dangerous. “Nu wike numming wi ugwy Coow Fwuffy!” Answered Bramble pouty. Even Rob seemed annoyed at the fact that she called for help just for that. “Anthony, num with Wob.” Indicated Rob slightly serious, turning around. Anthony sighed and went to eat next to Rob. Bramble acted victorious and proud.

Time passed and it got dark. “Uuh… nu wike dawk time.” Commented Crimson slightly nervous. The streetlights shined brightly enough, but the backyard still got pretty dark. “Eeeeeeeeeeee!!!” Screamed Talus terrified from inside the house. Everyone looked back. The scared chirps of the foals could also barely be heard. Rob and Anthony sprung into action running below the deck, though Anthony quickly got ahead of Rob. Since it was dark, the only light that illuminated below the floorboards was the one that got in through the windows and seeped through the cracks, making it barely visible. “G-Gu away see-thwough missy!” Ordered Talus brave but somewhat scared. Anthony speeded up. “Nuuu! Sunny!!” Exclaimed Talus desperately, while something being dragged was heard. Anthony had focused on remembering the way in, so he quickly found his way to the kitchen.

Anthony got to the main hallway and heard a door suddenly closing upstairs. He ignored it for the time being, concentrating on helping Talus. When he entered the living room he saw Talus standing in front of the foals. He clearly was trying to protect them while the foals were all hugging each other in fear as well as Talus’s back legs. “Scawdy poopies! Pwease sabe Coco! Scawy missy! Mummah!” Said the foals terrified and crying. Anthony looked around aggressively, wanting to make sure whatever scared them wasn’t around anymore.

Rob arrived, looking slightly tired from running. “Wha happen’? Whewe munstah?” Asked Rob serious and somewhat determined. “Missy com fwom doow buh nu nice missy, be scawy see-thwough missy. Den missy be gon.” Answered Talus friendly yet somewhat scared. The mares arrived and went to their foals. “Nu be scawed bebbehs, mummah is hewe.” Said Crimson comforting. Her foals adorably hugged her, chirping in fear, and she hugged them back. Bramble sat down and grabbed her foals, putting them on her stomach. The foals got cozy in her fur, not making a noise but still slightly trembling. Crimson’s foals managed to relax. “Whewe Sunny?” Asked Bramble worried, looking around the room for her yellow foal. Talus looked at the floor, seemingly miserable. “Sunny nu hide behind Tawus fast enough. Scawy fwoating see-pwaces appeaw an take bebbeh. Nu know whewe am nao…” Explained Talus miserable, remembering Sunny’s screams as she was pulled by her bent leg out of the room. Bramble looked distressed, apparently trying to contain her tears.

Anthony noticed how Bramble was about to cry so he put their differences aside for this time. “Wiw find Sunny.” Said Anthony determined. Bramble seemed surprised as well as Rob. “Nu, nu gu. Scawy missy couwd get ‘ou.” Said Rob somewhat serious yet slightly worried. Anthony looked at him serious. “Want to be good fwiend. Go fast, scawy miss no get me. Save Sunny.” Replied Anthony serious and determined. Rob thought about it for a moment. “Otay, jus be cawefuh.” Said Rob somewhat worried yet slightly serious. “Thank ‘ou…” Said Bramble grateful yet slightly pouty. Anthony then went out of the living room while Rob tried to comfort Talus.

Anthony guessed that Sunny might be upstairs based on the door slamming before. He went up the stairs, being very cautious. The door to the bathroom was now closed. Anthony tried kicking the door with his back hooves, but it didn’t move an inch. “Baby, is you inside?” Asked Anthony somewhat serious. No response. He tried pushing the door open with his whole body, but it didn’t budge. Anthony gave up, resigning to check the other rooms. As soon as he walked away the door slowly opened.

Anthony looked back. For some reason it was pitch black inside. Anthony slowly made his way inside the bathroom, looking around for any woman or floating eyes. The only thing that could be seen inside was the bathtub which glowed dimly. The door silently moved behind Anthony, only making a noise when it fully closed. Anthony looked behind him and slowly backed off to the bathtub. Then two red eyes, the same that corpse had, looked at him with a soft red glow. “You aren’t… exactly like them…” Whispered a voice angrily. Anthony got a shiver down his spine. “L-Leave f-fwiends awone.” Tried to exclaim Anthony, but his fear kept his voice low, his body slightly trembling. “Don’t get in… my way… and… you survive…” Whispered the voice angry yet slightly compassionate. Anthony couldn’t say the words in his mind. The eyes then dispelled, and the door opened, letting a sliver of light inside.

Light slowly seeped through the cracks and Anthony could see inside good enough. He stood up and looked inside the bathtub. Sunny’s body was inside. Anthony gasped and then tried to jump inside. Even though he was a Coluffy, he still wasn’t strong enough to get jump all the way inside the bathtub. He then looked around and noticed one of the various wooden planks scattered around the house. It was laying on the wall right next to the bathtub. Anthony managed to move it and the plank fell right on the side of the bathtub, almost half of it hanging above it. He then climbed on top and walked inside to the bathtub. Once he was above the bathtub, the plank balanced to the other side and Anthony fell inside. “Ouch!” Said Anthony hurt. The plank also fell mostly inside, making a convenient ramp out.

Anthony got to Sunny, only to see she was dead. “No, Sunny…” Said Anthony sad, touching her with his hoof. Her bent leg had been cracked in half, only a sliver of flesh keeping it together. Her eyes were sunk in their sockets and lacking color. Her body seemed thinner that it already was. Her wounds also lacked any blood and there wasn’t any around the bathtub or anywhere else either. Anthony grabbed her body by the scruff with his mouth. The he climbed the plank again. This time he was careful and slowly tipped the plank over, letting him walk down instead of falling.

Anthony returned to the living room. Everyone saw in shock what was left of Sunny. Anthony let the body down while Bramble rushed to it. “No couwd save Sunny. Go sweep fowevew…” Said Anthony discouraged, while moving away from the body. Bramble shook Sunny’s body. “Pwease wakies bebbeh! Huu huu huu!” Cried Bramble sadly. “Hate scawy missy.” Said Rob angrily, scrunching his face. Bramble gave up and approached Anthony. “Thank ‘ou… fow twying to save bebbeh…” Said Bramble discouraged, looking down. “Is okay. Wiww pwotect othew babies.” Said Anthony determined and reassuring. Bramble went and gave a big hug to her remaining foals. “What nao?” Asked Talus slightly depressed. “Take Sunny to diwt bed.” Answered Anthony slightly serious. Anthony grabbed Sunny’s body again and took it all the way outside.

Anthony went towards the overgrown bushes. They still had dirt below, so he dug it up and placed Sunny’s body inside. Then he covered her body and returned, having scratched his face with the branches. Crimson looked at Anthony slightly worried because of the lightly bleeding scratches on his snout. “Wan huggies to make huwties bettah?” Asked Crimson sweetly, extending her front legs. “Am okay. No many owwies wike befowe.” Answered Anthony serious yet slightly depressed. Crimson seemed somewhat discouraged. At seeing that Anthony gave in. “Okay, give hugs.” Said Anthony somewhat embarrassed. Crimson smiled while Anthony sat down. Crimson then gave Anthony a big hug. After that everyone went to sleep, Crimson sleeping next to Anthony with her foals snuggling between them. Only the foals felt safe thanks to their mothers as well as Crimson thanks to Anthony. The light coming through the windows from the streetlamps was calming as well.

I actually feel invested in hoping that at least Rob, Anthony, and Crimson survive.

I really like the whole idea. The setup is nice. The fluffies - including the smarty - are likeable. One can imagine the whole scenario quite good. But I have a slight critique. Please take no offence but I have noticed that you tend to use mitigations in form of “slightly” or “somewhat” relatively often which on the one hand may reduce the impact of some phrases (e.g. “slightly depressed” instead of “depressed” or simply “sad”, “slightly serious” instead of “serious”) and also may become repetitive when used in quick succession. As I said, not meant to offend just a constructive critique.

I wanted to say the same but still a great Story

Yeah, at least for descriptions that aren’t for the way the talk I should use different words, I should also note that Fluffies show their emotions a bit more so you are right that I should use those modifiers less with them.

On the next version/part I’ll change these things.
