Lore here isn’t a hard requirement, a lot of creators, especially non abuse ones, play fast and loose with the lore. Think of the “lore” more as a shared base of information, something to start you up on. In my opinion, unless you’re creating it’s best not to even have a headcannon and instead follow themes and content that resonate with you while adapting to the worlds the author or artist created. After a while you’ll notice how many creators here form their own cliques where certain head cannon ideas flourish and are expanded on
