well it does say sub species and headcanon… no? i like to believe fluffies got shorter and stubbier over time. like pugs, i feel like there is a better breeding standard that look more like ponies than fluffies. but thanks for you and za’s unwarranted criticism. maybe next time i will implement it.

fair enough i guess. its just kinda discouraging when the first time ever i draw fluffies or even post on the website im already getting unwarrented feedback on a fictional species.
i like drawing them. i just feel like its counterproductive to say “no thats not a fluffy” just cause its legs are drawn longer then usual. its a fictional species. none of them are fluffies. they are just strokes on a piece paper.
regardless next time if i draw one ill do it to the “websites standard” i just dont see how theres any room for any subspecies if i cant even make their legs longer without people complaining.

There’s a difference between unwarranted and unsolicited but I get it. The reason we as a community are so defensive is because (not saying this is you) there are so many people coming through that will try to reinvent the wheel, or post about something entirely different, or shape the species to be what they want. Our community is relatively small so letting one person of that sort root in will probably create cascading changes as to what does and doesn’t constitute a fluffy, which will pull us further away from what the species is actually meant to be. We have a long history spanning over a decade and multiple different sites, and I’ve been here for most of it so I’m especially autistic about preserving it.
It’s also the leaner body type, as well as the general presentation. They look far too intelligent and dignified rather than being fat and retarded like fluffies should be. Also, we had a huge debate about leg length that spanned literal years, so that’s why we’re so adamant about short legs.
Well yeah obviously but that fictional species has rules, it has agreed upon anatomy, it has history. Try to consider the people behind this species and understand why we’re so defensive of it. We love new members but sometimes our artists and authors need a nudge (or a push) in the right direction.
Because the subspecies look like fluffies? Kek.

It’s not the long legs, friendo, but also the thin body! These fluffies lack CHONK. I like the fur texture, but think of them as action figures vs plush toys. One is full of soft and fat so you can squish it and toss it at a wall and it’ll bounce off. The other is hard and rigid and you can’t do anything with it except pose it in cool ways.
The real issue with pony-looking fluffies is that, well, how to say it…
MLP gore. People will and have just drawn regular MLP gore (or worse, MLP porn!), posted it on here, and said it’s a fluffy so it’s fine. If you were to put one of your fluffies next to an MLP pony, there’d be minimal difference, right? And that’s what causes an issue.
Your art is cool! You just need to keep in mind the basics of “round and fat” rather than “anatomically correct”.

i can draw them more fat and retarded. just keep in mind that my next few drawings i post r gonna be from the same batch. so may not be up to the fluffy ‘standard.’
i do want to add though. can i atleast have a headcanonned fluffy breeding program which aims to make them- less of a walking talking veterinarian bill?
i know the standard will always be fat fucks but.
like how i mentioned with pugs before. i just still want there to be some creative freedom to make, less fluffy lardballs. so atleast these ponies have some sort of use or backstory. and werent made for nothin.

Anyway no, we don’t want fluffies to be particularly capable or overly ponylike. There’s no real excuse for it, because at that point just draw MLP gore on Derpibooru.

Of course you can have headcanons! I think all of us have headcanons. But be careful that the headcanon subspecies won’t eclipse the regular fluffies, and be careful that the breeding program doesn’t create “Perfect Fluffies”. We get the idea for making “Perfect Fluffies” at regular intervals, and they’re always the same thing, with no ideas for how they could be used or how they’d be more interesting storytelling than normal fluffies. Just that they’d be perfect fluffies without the chonkiness or pooping or personality flaws or fragility or speech impediment.
And in case you think this is a silly thing to warn about: We had one guy that made up his own subspecies/fluffy predator thing but then posted about nothing other than said species, making fluffies an afterthought or victim of the week. Our frettiness is written in blood.

The year is 20XX. MLP: FIM is a cultural zeitgeist and Hasbro wants to cash in. They create a bio-science division, HasBio, to work on living MLP-inspired pets to sell to little girls. They do a bunch of testing, and this is sort of the “midway point” they’re at. They’ve given weird pony pig hamster shit chimera the ability to talk and use basic reasoning.
Then, PETA (those fags) catch wind and break into a Hasbio lab. They free the fluffies into the wild because PETA are all shortsighted retards. Fluffies breed like fucking rabbits and basically overpopulate the world. Hasbio then tries to hurriedly salvage their existence, marketing them instead of the MLP creatures they really wanted.
That’s basically it. That’s been the story since basically the very beginning and it’s the story we’re sticking with.

Shit i mean, id actually love to create a good story telling reason for the “perfect fluffy” existing. there are already show fluffies. bred for looks.
i just imagine this subspecies being bred for health. i still do imagine them keeping the speech impediment tho. i feel like thats just, too far gone kek
also i dont want my headcannon species to outshine the other. honestly i dont think they would even come close. storytelling wise. because theres already high demand for the retarded looking fluffies- people dont want to abandon the community they already have. ugly fat fluffies r cuter anyways right?
this subspecies would be more expensive. despite the breeding companies advertising it as cheaper.
cause in the long run yes they are slightly cheaper then regular fluffies. because they are prone to way less health issues.
but they still have issues fluffies do. overly needy dumb, shits everwhere if not trained properly. i imagine they could only breed perfect fluffies who are smarties… so big narcissism. ussually leaders of the pack. they are more easily taught harder tricks and pick up things intellectually easier.
who knows if i get motivated enough and im allowed i might do a story or comic involving it if the mods dont mind.
