These are some of my headcanons for the fluffy universe.
- Fluffies plasticize when they die, becoming stiff and hard and inedible. Thus, for black market food vending, or for cheap protein in struggle meals, fluffies are often prepared for cooking whilst still alive (shaving fluff, trimming off horns and wings, de-hooving for some of the “breeds” that have actual bone or keratin for their hoofies as opposed to the Hasbio trademark soft, leathery hoof pads that boil away into broth).
2. Fluffies became a huge problem after a group of former Hasbio employees, all fired due to vague “attachment issues” listed in their records, performed a heist of Hasbio documents and blueprints, most of which detailed how fluffies were created, what ingredients and DNA mixtures and et cetera. Those documents were quickly leaked online, stayed up for approximately two weeks, were downloaded by an ungodly amount of people, and by the time the former Hasbio employees were caught and sentenced, Hasbio had effectively gone bankrupt, seeing as the flood of cheaper off brand and custom fluffies meant Hasbio FluffMarts could no longer charge people out the ass for decent colored fluffies or the suddenly-not-rare alicorn. Hasbio makes most of its money now in selling off their fluffies for cheap, but the accessories are at least $100USD for the basic “Good Poopies” bundle; a Hasbio Sorry-Stick, Hasbio Sorry-Box, and a Hasbio Litter Box.
3. Also, the multiple “manufacturers” of fluffies that suddenly existed as competition to Hasbio weren’t afraid to experiment with deviations from the standard Hasbio formula, resulting in almost every variation of fluffy that can be seen, barring genetic defects like Forever Chirpies(SBS), Forever Foals(Dwarfism), or Big Friendly Fluffies*(Gigantism) or defects that are obviously results of physical trauma, like being derped, though the genetic defects can be bred for if wanted. This means that every variation of fluffy is canon! Selkie fluffies, cannibal fluffies, bloomers, seafluffies, spiderfluffies, fluffalo, etc.
4. Most of the United States and Britain agree that fluffies are pests, though there are still many places in the US and Britain where people raise, breed, train, and abuse fluffies. There’s fluffy pageantry and fluffy husbandry, and both of those are pretty lucrative, and for the abusebox side of things there’s a very profitable online market for fluffy gore since it’s not illegal yet with fluffies still being classified as “biological toys” under law and don’t have the same rights as an actual animal would. A case of the legal system again being unable to keep up with technology and the internet.
5. A good amount of the rest of the world sees fluffies as pest creatures that occasionally make a nice stew if you prepare them right.
6. Big Friendly Fluffies*(BFFs/XXLs) are genetically a bit sturdier than average fluffies, who themselves can take a lot of small abuses over a long time but can’t handle broken bones. BFFs can take a bit more abuse physically, a bit more toil, and can even, eventually, heal from a broken bone. There’s a lot of small communities in the midwestern states and rural countrysides that use BFFs like small workhorses on farms and such.
7. Smarties are almost always the worst members of feral herds. Smarties eat the nummies first, hit those they disagree with, and think they can do anything (including enfies babbehs and stompies babbehs) just because their mummah told them they were bestest baby. It’s rare to see a smarty actually being a kind leader in a feral herd.
